Alanna's jaw was somewhere near the floor.

Jaye looks over. "Should I ask?"

"Probably safer not to," Rory advised, sidling up to peer at the dinosaur. "I wonder if Dr. Smart Doctor Glasses would give me exra credit for this trip."

Jaye raises her eyebrows. "Dr. Smart Doctor Glasses?" she asks.

"Dr. Oliver. He has smart doctor glasses," Rory clarified.

"Cute Smart Doctor Glasses?" asks Jaye, pronouncing every capital letter.

Rory nodded solemnly. "Best part of taking paleo, yup."

She thinks. "Add/drop period already passed, huh?"

"Sadly. You could always just come to class one day," Rory suggested. "Because he is very, very pretty."

She might have just addded Dr. Oliver to a list that she'd sworn yesterday she wasn't keeping.

A girl can dream, right?

"I could try..." she says. "I mean, just to check out the Smart Doctor Glasses. Because really."

"Big." Alanna flapped. "I've never seen anything like this before. ~~At least for another twenty years.~~ Very big. And old. And um, just general wow."

"Yeah, they're kinda cool," she says. "As long as they're not chasing you down in a jeep."

Alanna squeaked. And cleared her throat. "Didn't they die out before there were cars? Or you know, people?"

"Well, yeah. But there was this movie. And there was a chase scene," she says, waving a hand vaguely. "Unless there's something the historians aren't telling us."

Alanna did her gaping thing.

"I didn't break your brain, did i?" asks Jaye.

Alanna swallowed. "It was already pretty broken. I've read about these things in books, but hey, real life? Wow. And by these things, I'm including busses, large buildings, roads, and museums."

Pippi walks up next to Alanna and gently shuts her mouth.

"I think you've caught all the flys yer gonna catch there." she says.

"Ohhhhh! T-Rex!"

Alanna was in too much shock to even blush.

Pippi is torn between gleefull abandonment of decorum leading to frolicing among dino bones, and consern for Alanna.

One would likely get her kicked out of the Museum...

"Alanna? Are you okay? They're dead, really. They won't bite... Except maybe in self-defence."

Alanna went back to gawking. "Big. Very big." She swallowed. "Fourteenth century country girl here, remember? Who just happens to love history."

"Yes. They are quite big." Pippi says looking up at the toothy maw silently roaring down at them.

"Unfortunately, there aren't many of these around anymore."

"Um, this is a bad thing how?"

"Well... I'm mean, look at it."
