Angela nodded. "It's kind of overwhelming. I think there are, like, a dozen within walking distance."

"And a bunch of monuments. . . . It is a little overwhelming. I feel like we need a week to see everything."

Angela nodded. "Definitely. I could probably spend a day just in this museum."

She spun around, taking in the hall of mammals. "So it's creepy here if you think about them being dead, but they're still beautiful. Kind of strange."

Nadia looked around silently at all the different animals, some she recognized as being native to Argentina and South America in general. At least they hadn't put the pickled gorilla on display

"I can see that. And there's something ancient about preserving animals, you know. Maybe not for this reason, though."

"True," Angela agreed. "This is about science, not about .... you know how hunters mount the heads to show off? That's really ancient. And stupid, because who really wants a dead deer staring at them all the time? Gives me the creeps."

"It was to show their strength. Their ability to conquer nature. To show the natural world it couldn't control them." Nadia smiled. "Now, though? Totally creepy."

Angela nodded thoughtfully. "That makes sense," she agreed. "Did you want to go look at anything else? I think I've pretty much seen the animals."

"They've got a gem stone exhibit, I saw the banner for it when we came in." Nadia tilted her head. "I think it's upstairs."

"With the hope diamond?" Angela asked, then shrugged. "Could be fun. Let's do it."
