Getting Out Into Coruscant [Friday morning into Saturday afternoon]

Anakin pointed out of one of the vaulted Temple windows towards the busy cityscape in front of them.

"And that is Coruscant. Clubs, restaurants, shopping, incredibly egotistical politicians, useless bureaucrats...it's all out there." He pointed to the nearest public transport pickup location. "Don't go lower than the mid-levels of Coruscant unless you're looking to disappear permanently," he warned. "There are a trillion beings on this planet, and it has a thriving underworld who are as ruthless as any you'll ever come across."

"I dunno," he said, shrugging. "Maybe for a while. No way Manticore would find me out here anyway."

"Yeah, there is that. It would be one less thing for you to worry about." The conversation was bothering Dean in ways he wasn't ready to look too closely at.

"Plus, flying transport, things to do, people to meet," Alec said, looking thoughtful.

"No one to watch your back, though," Dean said.

Alec glanced at Dean and smirked slightly. "That's true. Besides, here I'm not all that special."

Dean snorted. "And being special is that important to you?"

"I like standing out," he said, grinning.

"Not to make your head any bigger than it already is, but standing out is not a problem I see you having much," Dean said, smirking.

Alec snickered. "Lot more people here. And the Jedi are apparently pretty special to a man." He shrugs. "Guess I'll just stick to Fandom for now."

"There's worse places to be, mummies, jello dragons and voodoo curses aside."

"And I've got friends there, weird as that is," he said, smiling slightly.

"Yeah, almost like a real person," Dean teased.

Alec snorted and poked him in the shoulder. "Shut up."

"Hey, that's a good thing," Dean protested. "When you first came to Fandom you didn't even have a name. Now you have name, friends, dates and other... recreation, scrapbook and milkshakes. Not bad for a few months."

"Yeah, imagine what could happen if I'm there for a whole year," Alec said, for a moment even looking excited.

"Well you'll probably get a birthday party for one, considering all the hints you dropped during the Seahorse party," Dean teased.

"I was just trying to think of something that'd make everyone drink," Alec said, though his grin was entirely too wide to be really innocent.

"Uh huh, right." Dean pasted on a thoughtful look. "Y'know, Sammy's birthday is just a few days before yours; maybe we can throw you a party together, now that you're getting along..."

"You think Sam's really going to okay that," he said dubiously.

Dean couldn't keep a straight face any longer as he pictured Sammy's reaction if he did try to make him share his birthday with Alec and burst out laughing.

"God no, he wouldn't be okay with it," he said between chuckles. "Besides it wouldn't be fair to you -- first birthday you shouldn't have to share."

Alec snorted. "Damn right I shouldn't."

"You really are going to have to work up some enthusiasm between now and then." Dean's gaze got drawn back to the dancer on the stage. "Y'know, something like this might make part of a good birthday celebration..."

"What, a trip to Coruscant, or a strip club?" Alec grinned, glancing at Dean and then back to the stage.

Dean grinned. "Both. But the strip club would probably be easier to manage. Fake IDs, trip to the mainland..."
