Parking lot by the causeway and beyond, 5:00

It was worth paying the extra money to have the car delivered Isabel thought as she loaded her bag into the back of the Suburban. The carnival was too much fun, she wouldn't have wanted to miss it.

Looking at her watch, she hoped the others would get there soon. They had a five hour drive ahead of them and that didn't include stopping for dinner.

[ooc: Please wait for OCD up. Locked to the road tripping people. Okay to say they left, but the rest of the trip is NFB due to distance]

Jarod went over to the driver's side door and opened it, preparing to climb in.

"What are you doing?" Parker wondered, leaning against the frame so he couldn't get in.

"I thought I'd drive. I could use the practice," he beamed at her.

Parker's eyes widened. "Oh. God. No. Give me the keys, please."

"I have a license," Jarod protested, but reluctantly handed the keys over.

"And an adrenaline addiction. Thanks." Parker grinned and twirled the keys around her finger. "Everybody in! Isabel, fire up the music!"

Jack hopped in and immediately claimed the back seat, waving at Sam and Cedric and sliding pointedly into the middle.

And Cedric climbs in next, taking a seat to the right of Jack and waiting for whomever's next.

Sam climbed in after Cedric, climbing over both Cedric and Jack. "I'm not sure I like being the shortest here," she complained.

"You may be the shortest, but I'm pretty sure you're the most dangerous, so it all balances out." He hesitated, then put an arm around Sam, and an arm around Cedric.

"I just have a wand," Cedric says and shrugs. He leans back though, smiling.

Greg bounced in and sat in the second row, and peered over the back of the seat. "Hi, want to play the alphabet game? Or maybe sing a song? Or, ooh, does anyone have travel Scrabble?"

Parker adjusted the rear-view mirror to raise an eyebrow at Greg. "Greggie? You start a game of license-plate Bingo, and I leave you by the side of the road." She rolled her eyes. "Or sing anything you learned in kindergarten."

She grinned at Cedric in the mirror, checking her lights and the side-mirrors. "'Just' a wand. Heh. Just make sure it's chained to your wrist, I don't think diving into white-water for it is a good idea."

"Alphabet game? What's that?" Jarod asked, turning around in the front passenger seat to face Greg.

Parker *headwheeled* and beeped the horn, laughing under her breath.

Jack winced and started to laugh. "I think anything might be better than that. Alphabet game, Parker's beeping, anything!"

"This sounds like a perfectly good song to me," says Cedric who might even be moving to the music a bit.

"It's the best song ever, Ced!" said Greg, who had given his hair protegé a nickname. And then he began to sing along and bop around to the music.

Jarod leaned over to Parker. "What are we listening to?"

"Rob Thomas. He of the very, very earnest singing. About suicide pigeons and weeds and ... it's called Ever the Same. Which has been played to death in the dorms over the last three months. Rory quotes the lyrics at odd times." She shook her head, and put the Suburban in drive, pulling out of the parking lot. "Isabel? Anything but 'Hips Don't Lie' for a follow-up, please. Please?"
