Getting out into Coruscant [Friday afternoon into Saturday afternoon]

Anakin pointed out of one of the vaulted Temple windows towards the busy cityscape in front of them.



"And that is Coruscant. Clubs, restaurants, shopping, incredibly egotistical politicians, useless bureaucrats...it's all out there." He pointed to the nearest public transport pickup location. "Don't go lower than the mid-levels of Coruscant unless you're looking to disappear permanently," he warned. "There are a trillion beings on this planet, and it has a thriving underworld who are as ruthless as any you'll ever come across."

"No, your wee Jedi clothes were different than this," Rory pointed out, gesturing vaguely. "If I remember correctly from when we were little."

"There were more like Obi-Wan's," Anakin said, nodding. "I like the leather better."

"Even though the other ones were softer?" she asked, frowning.

"Master Windu has the soft clothes, too," Rory noted. "In another color, though."

"I like mine better," he said, beginning to sulk.

"Stop pouting," Rory said, rolling her eyes and devoting her attention to her caf.

"See if I help you with ordering food again," he muttered not quite under his breath. "You'd end up with Dianogan tea and then you'd be sorry."

Anakin responded like any mature adult would.

He stuck his tongue out.

Then tried to steal a bite of flapjacks.

Rory pouted a little. "What are you eating?" she asked, pointing to his food.

"Tarsh maxer," Anakin replied. "Um, kinda potato-y, with some meat parts. It's good. Want to try it?"

Rory nodded and helped herself to a little.

"It's not bad," she declared, smiling a little at him.

"Good," Anakin said, smiling back. "Oh, I almost forgot!"

He stood up and headed to the kitchen. A few minutes later he returned with a plate of cookies and something else boxed up neatly.

"Sand cookies," he said, grinning.

"I don't understand. They aren't black and crispy," Rory said seriously, taking one.

"Different recipe," Anakin replied, not missing a beat.

"Yes, these cookies seem to be made by patient people who wanted them to be correct," she said primly.

"Hey," Anakin said, moving the cookies closer to him. "Maybe people aren't being properly grateful to have cookies at all."

"People are grateful," she assured him, pouting a little. "Some people need to recognize jokes when they hear them, though."

"Some people often aren't known for their senses of humor," Anakin replied. "Especially in the baked-good arena."

"Yes, but these people spend a lot of time with certain people who are known for being kind of sarcastic, and so they need to shh," she said, rolling her eyes and reaching for another cookie. "What's in the box?"
