Enchantment of the Seas, Currently Docked in Boston Harbor, Saturday Morning/Afternoon

They pulled into Boston Harbor early in the morning, giving the guests ample time to adjust to their new surroundings. It was a little cloudy, but it was nowhere near as cold as it had been up in Newfoundland. Decent enough weather just to hang around the ship itself - even better to get out and explore the city, or try some of the excursions there were on offer.

Tomorrow, the ship would get back to Maryland. So enjoy your last full day on vacation while it lasted.

There aren't tubs in the middle of the rooms of any of the large staterooms, but you do get two twin beds (that can convert into queen-size), sitting area with sofa, vanity area and a private bathroom!

There's a Vitality Spa with an extensive treatment menu, if you haven't been spa-ed enough, as well as a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, with classes ranging from aerobics to kickboxing to yoga; 2 pools including the Solarium, an adults only retreat; 6 whirlpools; a rock-climbing wall; a bungee trampoline; an upper-deck jogging track; and a video game arcade.

The seaside city of Salem is well known for its infamous Witch Hunts three centuries ago and its special nautical heritage dating back to the China Trade. On this tour you will visit the Salem Witch Museum and experience Salem's historic waterfront. In addition, you will visit the Witch Memorial, and the Point Burying Ground where one of the "witch" judges is buried.

Eugh, my brain.

Aside from the brief distraction of Topher yesterday, Dave hadn't moved or, really, even looked away from Stargate Defender since he got to the arcade last night.

But now he had finally run out of quarters, so he was forced to stumble out of the arcade, dazed and confused by the passage of time and heading back to his stateroom... where he got more money and immediately returned to the arcade.

The humanoids needed saving, goddammit!

After a very busy week, Bruce actually treated himself a little and slept in. Yep. He didn't even wake up until 7. Such a slacker.

But even after he awoke, he decided to take it easy and not go work out first thing in the morning. He understood the importance of rest, and his body actually needed some. So he was starting the morning with some light reading about Boston in the 19th Century.

It was October, apparently Halloween was a big thing in this universe, so Seifer hit up the Salem Tour.

Hopefully, they'd be late enough that he could hit up a few haunted houses in town too.

After the Salem tour, Seifer decided to take another person's suggestion and hit up the Witch's Woods (http://www.witchswoods.com/?utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=wwHouses&gclid=CNyApNHY6qsCFYpn5Qode1iTHg). He just hoped it would be worth the price of admission.

And if he missed the boat, well, he'd find a way back. He had all weekend.

Tours were lame. Topher wanted to do something interesting. So he looked up the address of the Harvard campus (MIT was apparently in a whole different town -- who knew?) and went in to sit on some guest talks on neurobiology at the medical school.

Cool.

For the first time in his educational career, he didn't have to correct the professor! That was impressive.

Peter wasn't working. This had nothing to do with him being in any way inclined to finally relax right now, but the wifi he managed to catch out here simply wasn't steady enough to maintain a 22nd century connection.

He was not amused, and spent some time glaring at his computer before the squirrels came and got him.

A few hours later, he came back from the spa looking less annoyed, though a little more anxious.

Peter had no stable wifi. Peter had been wrangled into doing radio again this morning. Peter was in a distinctly crappy mood, and had the worst kind of time relaxing. What if something happened while he was cut off?

Half an hour later, lying flat on the massage table, Peter had to concede one point to Kenzi and Topher: maybe leaving his room to relax wasn't the worst idea ever.

Right, there was no way Wes was passing this up. Since much of it took place outdoors, he was able to bring Katniss along as well, though convincing the museum staff to allow her inside required a great deal of pleading and eventually a bribe.

Still, it was fascinating. He even took notes. Even though Katniss was giving him reproachful looks indicating that she might have preferred the food tour.

One thing Ender had missed this past week was swimming. Now that he had the chance to, he was taking it, doing laps to stretch and energize all those muscles he'd put into building over the past few days.

It felt good, the way swimming always did - left him feeling in full possession of his body and with all the tools available to move as he liked.

Never mind clearing his head.

Natalie was ~~stealing Topher's idea~~ spending her morning walking around the Harvard campus like a good little geek, a takeaway cup of coffee in hand.

She didn't really see herself as a Harvard girl, but she couldn't have skipped the visit, either.

Topher had just come out of his second consecutive lecture and was getting some air before heading into a third. Which was when he spotted Natalie.

"Huh. You really aren't Kate," he marveled.

That was meant as the hugest of compliments, Natalie.

Oh, Boston, I miss you so.

Simon was still gathering some mildly weirded-out looks for carrying around a blue chick. Even moreso now that he was going around shops and asking for her opinion on things.

He would've felt bad if he'd left her in the room, though.

And yet it just felt like a retread of something Natalie preferred not to dwell on. Oh well. Guess it wasn't going to go away.

"Yeah," Natalie replied, dryly. "I'm aware of that."
