Kohala Coast, Hawaii - Morning & Afternoon - Friday - February 25th

With only two days of vacation left, time was running out for the guests to enjoy the blue skies and warm ocean breeze of Hawaii. Luckily, there were still plenty of things to do at the resort, for anyone who wasn't worn out from all the fun yet!

"A friend shoved me through a carwash," Bobby shared. "Shocked me back to my senses. Of course, I also smelled like car wax for a week afterward," he made a face.

"The carwash?" Rinoa asked, frowning. Not mocking! Not laughing! Just trying to follow along, and not quite managing it. "So ... kind of like slapping someone to get them to snap out of hysterics?"

She might be taking notes, here. Mentally, anyway.

"Essentially? Yeah," Bobby nodded. "I don't actually remember anything that happened while I was controlled. Just... anger," he pushed a bit of waffle around on his plate absently as he spoke. "And then, there I was, soaking wet and covered in soapsuds."

Rinoa shivered. "I'm so sorry," she said, quickly. "I didn't mean to make you ... relive all of that."

"It's okay," Bobby said, looking up and flashing her a little smile. "I hate that you had to experience that too," he added. Though at the same time, it was... not comforting, exactly, but maybe reassuring? That someone else understood his feelings about letting people in one's mind.

"I know," she said. "Me, too. I mean, for you. It made it easier for me to explain. I was worried ... that it would look rude. I kept wanting to ask for help and panicking and making her promise she wouldn't do anything. Not that I don't ... trust her, I just mean ..."

Well. He'd understand.

Bobby nodded. "Sookie's the person I trust most in Fandom." Well... she was probably tied with Warren, really, but not the point. "And, rationally, I know she'd never do what Rampage did. But it's not always easy to be rational when you're afraid." Something that the past few months with X-Factor, playing off mutants' fear of humans and vice versa, had seen fit to remind him of repeatedly.

Rinoa was nodding, vigorously. "Because people you trust can hurt you," she said. "My ... my ex, back home. He isn't himself, and he ... used me. I feel so stupid."

The worst part was the inky black voice of doubt. The one that said if she was unwise in trusting Seifer, maybe she shouldn't trust anyone else so easily, either.
