Nathan shrugged a shoulder and looked up and down the beach. Maybe it wasn't fair to be purposefully stubborn right now but he was good at it when he wanted to be.
"And what sorts of fun things have you been doing since I last saw you?" Nathan asked, still standing for the moment. "Have you been taking in all the historical sights and sounds of the island, Caroline? Have you been shoving education in your mind instead of letting it slowly atrophy by lazing around on the beach, attempting to get some sun? Hawaiian history never met the likes of you, yeah?"
He'd just barely stopped himself from asking if she'd been shoving something else inside her. That...might have earned a kick in the junk.
