The temperature's cooling off a bit over the next few days, so hiking and other desert-fun activities might actually be fun.

"750 feet tall," Dinah said, leaning over the teeny, tiny barrier to look dooooooooown. "What I really should've brought was an inner-tube."

"For what possible purpose?!" Tony asked, staring at the drop.

"Sliiiiiding!" Dinah beamed at him and looked dooooown (http://rlv.zcache.com/aerial_view_of_hoover_dam_postcard-p239885024332349599qibm_400.jpg). "If Karla were along, it would be totally easy! Somehow." She gave him a speculative look. "You're a wizard. There has to be a sliding spell somewhere in that laptop...."

"Nu-uh, no way, I am not enabling this insanity!" Tony said, waving his hands in the universal WTF NO sign. "Besides, my spells never work right the first time."

"Sadly true." Dinah sighed and climbed up on the barrier, not standing, just hanging on and sitting. Totally safe! "And airwalking down wouldn't be much fun... take my picture!"

Tony took a photo of her. Quickly. Before she could get any more ideas.

Dinah grinned and climbed back down, pausing to watch a family of tourists doing the photo thing too. "Did you guys ever do that? Take family vacations?"

"Henry's not big on sightseeing," Tony said. Deflecting, yes.

Dinah let him get away with it; it wasn't like she'd want to get into too much detail about the Redmonds, either. Denied was denied. But she kept watching the family. "I saw whatshername at Graduation, too. I was glad she came to see you graduate."

"Vicki's good people," Tony agreed. "What about you guys? Barbara and Helena ever take you on a road trip?"

"Heh. Noooo. Although..." She turned back to him. "It might be good for them if they did. Barbara especially. She doesn't relax enough. Maybe I can talk them into something later this summer, since she's at least not teaching classes." She poked at his shoulder. "You could bring Henry!"

Heeeee.

"Ha," Tony said. "Lee, maybe, though. That could be cool."

"It could!" Dinah's totally enamored of this idea now. "Where, though? Niagara Falls?" She grins at him. "You guys can get married, instead of me and Sam!"

"Or nobody can get married!" Tony suggested. "How's that?"

"You're no fun." Dinah grinned at him, clinging to the barrier again, wind whipping her hair around her face. "We should go watch people get married in those tacky tacky chapels in town. And cheer. And be glad it's not us."

"That I'm okay with," Tony said. "Did you see there's drive-thru chapels?"

"I didn't!" Dinah laughed, and jumped down from her perch. "Oh, we have to do this now... Do you think there'll be people getting married on motorcycles?"

"Wouldn't put it past them," Tony said. "Is that what you want someday?"

Dinah hooted. "No! ... although it would be funny." She grinned, one thought leading to another. "Jaime and I might take my bike to El Paso when I get back."

"No," said Priestly. "Absolutely not. I am not explaining to your sisters how you died going tubing on the Hoover Dam."

"She's insane, right?" Tony asked. "It's not just me?"

"She's totally insane. Which, admittedly, we already knew."

"So why are we letting her near a 750 foot drop?"

"Because she's also persuasive?"

"And having fun?" Dinah said, swinging back and forth on one railing support. "C'mon! Tell me that doesn't look like a ginormous slide!"

"It looks like a ginormous drop!" Tony protested. "Could you please stop doing that?"

"Photo op me, then I'll get down," Dinah bargained, digging for her phone, then throwing it to him underhanded.

Tony caught it and took a couple of pictures. "Okay. Now?"

"Now!" Dinah jumped off the support, and landed on her feet, popping up to grin. "Okay, want to visit the gift shop and get something tacky?"

"Totally," Tony said. "You can help me pick out something for Henry."

"Yay! Tacky phallic images for the creature of the night!"

"Awww, c'mon!" Dinah swayed and leaned over, one hand on the railing. "I'd use some kind of fool-proof smash-preventer!"

"You know what would be fool proof in preventing a smash up? Not sliding down the dam."

"Fiiiiine. And the Guiness Record for jumping from here stays intact." Dinah hopped down off the barrier and pointed at him. "Next time someone offers you party favors, you know I'm there. Tapping my foot at you."

"Totally not the same thing. But, yeah, I know."

"Okay then. So long as we're clear." Dinah grinned. "Want to take random prezzies to the wedding chapel? Like those tacky snow globes?"

"Mmm, desert snow. Sounds like fun."
