Kellerman's Resort, Saturday Evening, October 17th

It was the last night of a magical week here at Kellerman's. It could only be hoped that everyone had the time of their lives. That they'd never felt this way before.

But we swear it's the truth.

And they owe it all to the wonderful camp for putting up with everyone's shenanigans. Bobby.

"Thank you very much for that," Mat said dryly. And he'd thought that Arthur was the more unreasonable one of the pair of them running the frat. "I'd never, ever hurt a woman. I have four sisters."

Two of whom were now on the way to being bloody Aes Sedai, something Mat didn't want to think about. They'd been annoying enough without the Power.

"I come from a very, very small village," Mat said with a smile. "If anyone had an eye on one of my sisters, I've known him all my life."

"Then, you're lucky," Hannibal said, shrugging easily. "I'm not trying to offend you here. I'm just...protective. It's a thing. It's not you."

"And I'm not apologizing for being protective," he said and shrugged. "It is what it is. I'm not looking for a fight and I'm not going to try and explain things to you because you can't see my perspective. Wasn't trying to insult you, though. Take my word or don't."

"A few months, maybe?" Hannibal said, thinking back. "I used to have an issue with starting, finishing, ending in, whatever with fights."

Hannibal stared for a moment and asked, "Well, that's...a lot more severe than fights. Why do they keep doing that?"

"They think it'll send a message to a friend of mine," Mat said with a little shrug. "They're wrong, of course, but it's bloody irritating all the same."
