Kellerman's Resort, Saturday Evening, October 17th

It was the last night of a magical week here at Kellerman's. It could only be hoped that everyone had the time of their lives. That they'd never felt this way before.

But we swear it's the truth.

And they owe it all to the wonderful camp for putting up with everyone's shenanigans. Bobby.

"Then why d'you question me?" he asked more curiously than defensively.

"Because I'm a Dog." Mayhap there was more. She'd plenty of friends who were part of the Court of the Rogue. She'd kissed the Rogue but two weeks ago, but she'd not stop worrying.

George grinned brightly at her, his eyes flashing with mischief. "Sound more like me mam."

And he tried to push her out into a spin before she could reply.

She let him, because they were dancing, but she'd not forgotten their conversation when her hand came back to rest on his shoulder. "Your mam isn't a Dog."

"She'd've been if she didn't have th'Gift," George said with a grin. "An' ye question like her."

"She'd have made a fine Dog then," Beka reasoned. "She's got the Gift?"

"Callin' yerself a fine Dog now?" he asked, looking amused. And he nodded. "Aye, twas a Priestess of th'Goddess afore."

She made a face at him, but didn't respond. "She didn't strike me as a Priestess," Beka said, surprised.

"Isn't no more," George said with a shrug. "She had me."

Yeah, he felt badly about it. Shh.

"And such a fine young lad you are," she said, reaching up to tug a lock of his hair.

He ducked his head at the tug, giving her an amused look. "An' tha's Beka Cooper sayin' that, ladies and gentlemen. Has t'be th' truth."

"I'd not lie," she said easily, her hand falling back to his shoulder as she met his gaze.

"I'd know if y' did," he agreed teasingly. The mischief dropped out of his eyes for a moment as her look found him, and his hand moved on her waist unconsciously, urging her closer.

"And how'd you know?" she asked him. Her hand flattened against his shoulder, keeping the distance between them as it was.

He winked, realising this was a stupid and very bad idea.

"Even you've tells, Beka," he teased, moving into more of a jig as the music changed.

"And you're an expert," she guessed, her tone clearly mocking and she was glad to speed up the dancing.

"An' mayhap I am," he agreed with a teasing smirk. "How would y'know?"

"Because you're one of those who think they're an expert at everything," she teased him.

"Says th' 'fine Dog,'" he smirked back at her.

That earned him a glare. "At least I'm not crooked Dog," she said, slightly defensive.

"Never said you were, lass," he said more gently, squeezing her hand lightly. "I wouldn' doubt ye for anythin'."

George gave Beka a halfsmile, tossing his hair out of his eyes with a tiny shake of his head. "So what are ye an expert at?"

Beka snorted. "I'm a junior Dog, there's not much I'm an expert at."

"Oh aye, that's what y'd say," he teased. "Not many junior Dogs get a nickname."
