Kellerman's Resort, Saturday Evening, October 17th

It was the last night of a magical week here at Kellerman's. It could only be hoped that everyone had the time of their lives. That they'd never felt this way before.

But we swear it's the truth.

And they owe it all to the wonderful camp for putting up with everyone's shenanigans. Bobby.

"Did you have a pleasant day today?" Jonas asked curiously. "See anything interesting?"

"I tried the pool and spent some time with Emma," Beka said. She'd prefer not to get into what they'd done. "Twas a slow last day, but it was well enough. You?"

"I just went on the hiking trip off the mountain," Jonas said, looking a little more interested at the word 'pool'. "What did you think of swimming? Was it different from lakes and streams for you?"

"I've never swum in a lake before," Beka said. "I'm not that good a swimmer, but it was different. It tasted and smelled different."

"You tasted it?" Jonas asked, pulling a face. "I didn't know you could do that since there was a chemical in it."

"Didn't mean to," she made a face. "I was laughing and swallowed some. I've not felt ill."

A laugh escaped from Jonas' lips and he clamped a hand over his mouth. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. It just sounds like something I would do."

She wrinkled her nose at him, good naturedly. "Twas a looby thing to do, knowing about the chemicals. Tara didn't seem worried about it, so I think it was fine."

"It's a remarkable thing, being able to treat water like that so it's safe for that sort of thing," Jonas said, still laughing a bit. "Perhaps, the next time I'm in a pool, I'll swallow some too so you won't be alone there."

Beka laughed. "I'd not recommend it. It was rather bad. Not as bad as that strange drink Kennedy showed me when we got here." No, chlorine beat Red Bull any day.

"Strange drink?" Jonas asked curiously.

"Red Bull," Beka clarified, not expecting it to mean much to Jonas. "The water in the pool tastes much better. She said the drink is supposed to give you energy."

"Red Bull?" She was right, the name meant nothing to him. "How does a drink give you energy? I thought rest did that."

"I don't know how it works here," Beka said. "They don't have magic here so it must be the herbs they put in it."

"And it isn't good?" Jonas asked. "Perhaps the benefit of energy overrules the taste?"

"Mayhap, but I've plenty of energy to get through the day here," Beka reasoned. "I'll do fine without drinking sommat vile."

"I think I'll keep myself away from that sort of drink," Jonas decided, scrunching up his nose. "The juices here are very good though. I've been drinking apple juice with breakfast. It's very sweet."

She chuckled. "I'll never argue with apple juice or aught that comes from apples."

"Back home, we had water and orange juice on special occasions," he shared quietly, swishing the water in his bottle around. "It wasn't very adventurous. The apples that were grown were only used for food."

"And no apple fritters," she already knew that part and she watched the water slosh around. "Gabriel is right, you should eat more ice cream."

"Gabe would be happy to hear that you're agreeing with him," he said and snickered. "I think I might get a little bored with ice cream, honestly. With so much that I'm allowed to eat, I'd rather not limit myself."

Beka chuckled. "I didn't say you should only eat ice cream," she pointed out. "Just more."

"Well, you should too," Jonas replied, nodding. "You've eaten just as little as I have. I've done some research, though, and there are...a lot of various flavors. I hope Gabe doesn't make himself sick."

"I'd not mind having more ice cream," Beka chuckled. "He'll learn if it does make him sick. I'm certain he'll be fine. What flavors are there?"
