LAX Portalocity Terminal [Monday Night]
It was late enough on Monday night that the airport was mostly quiet. A lot of the shops and restaurants were closed already, but the lights were on bright in the Portalocity Terminal.
There weren't snacks this time, but a few boxes of tissues were around the room, in case anyone needed them after saying goodbye to their temporary families.
[post is up early for great sp justice. no ocd. you still have all day to play in today's Disney post though]

Faith clung to her older sister as well.

"You guys got all your stuff?" he asked.

Matthew nodded as well. "I'm all set."

She was trying not to sniffle too much.

"See," he was saying to the girl walking beside him, who was proudly sporting the Disney-character baseball jersey (yes, baseball, he'd insisted, and besides, they didn't have any rugby style ones in any of the shops they'd looked in) and pilot's-cap mouse ears he'd spent the last of his money on, "there was no getting drunk and being gross in public."
Because wow, no. Not in this world. Weird.
"Oh, shut up, Dad," Kayla said lightly; both of them leaned against the wall in identical poses. Waiting for the last possible second. Typical.

He glanced up at Anders. "No offence."

"Yeah, yeah," Kayla said, rolling her eyes (Anders wondered how she didn't sprain something as often as she did that, then chalked it up to thorough eye-muscle stretching -- yeah, that would be his kid all right) at both of them. "At least it's not like at home, where you still pretend like you're not together."
"Oh, I see you've got the difference down now," Anders noted dryly.

Each of the kids was sporting their Mickey ears and carrying a backpack full of souvenirs to take home. Veronica was grateful that she was Mrs. Casablancas now because those kids had damn near taken her broke.
"All right, guys, give me hugs."

Now it was time for Lynn to leave. "You have everything, right?"
Lynn nodded, clinging to a bag full of souvenirs. "Uh huh."

Lily hugged back equally tightly. "I'm always good, Mommy."

Probably.
"Susso needs a big hug, cfaadraynd," Rikku sighed.

Rede hadn't been here, this time. But maybe that was because Rede had himself his happy ending, here. Gone back to some other Reno and Rude in some other world, so he could learn to be one hell of a little Turk.
Reno was cool with that.

He'd gotten a camera the first night and had taken a lot of pictures. He had those to keep, at least.
"Are you ready?" he asked softly.

She sat Storm down and then knelt so that she was at eye level with her kids.
"Do you guys have everything you need?" Which, she knew they did, as well as a lot of other things that they hadn't arrived here with.

"Your parents are in for big surprises, aren't they," she said with a laugh.
Why? All four girls had taken to heart what Cole had said about having pirate's blood and they were all dressed up in as much pirate gear as they could wear and carry.
