Disneyland [Day One]

After the surprise welcome at the airport, shuttle buses transported all of the Fandomites and their unexpected guests to the Paradise Pier Hotel where they were able to check in and unpack if they wanted before hitting up the parks.

It was an excellent day for Disneyland with an expected high of 80, a mostly sunny day and a slim chance of a rain shower.

Man, the freakin' OCD got me earwormed with the Electrical Parade theme!

As one knows, the people who work at Disney are trained to be the most courteous and helpful staff in the world. All the character actors go under even more specialized training to make sure that their interaction with their guests brings about a magical and treasured experience that families will cherish and bring them back again.

So it would take quite a bit for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to break character and start chasing after a guest. Possibly threatening to hurt him. Possibly dismemberment.

Then again no one at Disney had ever met Jamie Madrox.

"So much for this being the happiest place on Earth!" Jamie huffed as he made a break for main street.

Is the trip open to alumni who opted not to have kids show up?

Anakin sat on a bench next to a stroller, looking entirely uncomfortable in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.

He was trying to keep the attention of the infant inside by bouncing a red balloon up and down.

While GOB was wandering the park, he spotted Cinderella by City Hall. Some pleasantries were exchanged and she even agreed to pose for a cell phone picture with him.

And then he said, "So, the glass slipper thing. Does that mean you're some kind of foot fetishist? Because I'm okay with that. Want to see my feet?"

GOB did not hook up with Cinderella.

Before any parents anywhere could even realize where he was going or consider stopping him, Jonathyn was making a beeline for Anakin, jumping up onto the bench to greet his great-grandpa.

John was, of course, in the shooting gallery, plinking away. He was close to getting one of those big stuffed gorillas with his methodical shooting.

Anakin's eyes went wide. "Hello, little one," he said cautiously. "Are you lost?"

Jonathyn frowned because he was not lost and why did people never remember him? They always knew the twins. "You're granpa," was the whispered response he earned just by being that old.

While Jonathyn bounced happily in Goofy's Bounce House, John watched from the window area and took a few minutes to breathe.

Yes, he kind of needed it, thanks.

It took Anakin a second to process--weirdness on the island yes, weirdness at the Creepiest Place on Earth, well, now it kind of made sense...

"Jonathyn?" he replied, furrowing his brow. "Was there another portal?"
