The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship - Evening and On]

The ship had returned to sea at 5pm, horns blaring as they exited the port, headed for a full Tuesday at sea. Of course, the day wasn't over for the people aboard. But whether they were in the mood for a cozy space to sip cocktails with someone special or a swanky place to savor a cigar and make new friends, Crown Princess was ready to provide the evening with plenty of entertainment.

Dinah was trying to convince the barman that she was eighteen. With absolutely no success. She'd dressed up (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/images/prodpri2/V283465.jpg) as maturely as she could, even put her hair up, and no luck.

Spotting someone she knew, Dinah decided to sit down before they decided to throw her out. She grinned at Angry Blonde as she sat down. "Braaaains."

"You got 'em?" Katchoo asked, in her usual disinterested tone, waving down a passing waitress for another round.

"Nope. I baked them all out on the beach today." Dinah tried to look hopeful as Katchoo ordered another drink. "Didn't see you there. Were you on the closest thing to a roof here, looking at waves?"

"I went out on the glass-bottomed boat earlier." Katchoo tossed back another of the two shots the waitress brought her and eyed Dinah. "What's it to you?"

"Just curious." Dinah blinked at the way Angry Blonde threw back the shots, and admitted, "I can't get served, and I was hoping you wouldn't mind buying for me."

Katchoo shrugged and gestured toward the other shot, right next to the small but growing pyramid of empty shot glasses on the table. "It's your liver, right?"

"Sure!" Dinah took a deep breath, then threw back the shot like the Angry Blonde had.

Big mistake.

"...ack hack ack gack cough..."

Katchoo snickered and set her latest empty glass down atop the pyramid. "Newbie."

Dinah managed to glare and cough, simultaneously. Whoa.

When she finally go her breath back, and wiped her watering eyes, she glared at the shotglasses. "That's more evil than mojitos. I think I just seared the roof of my mouth. Why do you *like* that?"

"Because it works," Katchoo answered simply. "Mojitos are weak crap anyway."

Dinah considered ordering another drink.... and some smart brain cell exploded behind her eyes and convinced her it was a bad idea. "Wow. I will so never make drinker at this point, will I?" She shook her head. "Just out of curiousity? And possibly nominating you for some record somewhere. How many little shotglasses of those have you had?"

Katchoo raised one index finger to point at the glasses, waving it in the air in some complex attempt at either counting or drawing a mystical pointillist sigil.

"Dunno. Not enough."

Dinah refrained from asking How can you not be drunk yet? because that was the kind of question that sounds like a PSA waiting to happen. "Are you drunk enough to tell me what your name is?"

"Okay, now that sounds like a bad pickup line," Katchoo grumbled, flagging down the waitress again. "If it is I'm not biting."

Dinah choked, and shook her head, eyes wide. "No! Just wondering! You're very pretty but I'm not gay at all. Plus you never say your name on the Radio, I was wondering if you even had one."

"Can't tell you that," Katchoo answered, though she was snickering inside at Dinah's reaction. "If I did I'd have to kill you."

Okay, and around Fandom, that might actually be true. Maybe. Dinah stared at her, trying to see if she was lying.

Katchoo wasn't a gambler, but she had a pretty good poker face as she looked at Dinah, not saying a word, wanting to see if she'd really fall for it.
