The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship/Princess Cays, Bahamas]

Early in the morning, the cruise director came over the loudspeaker announcing the port of the day and some on-boat activities of interest. Those paying attention would learn that from 9am until 5pm, the Crown Princess would be docked in the lovely Princess Cays, Bahamas where guests were welcome to participate in glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or beach excursions for a portion of the day. Adults were encouraged toward the Sanctuary on the Sun Deck for a more private way to relax away from the teens.

"I try," Claire said, trying to make it sound like she didn't, when, in fact, she pretty much did. She leaned to trail her fingers through the water. "Ocean near L.A. is not much like this."

Katchoo had a bit of a feeling she did.

"Nah," she agreed. "All that gunk in the water from the ports and all. There's fish like this out there, but people pay stupid amounts of money to get' em."

"Yeah, these are too pretty to kill and eat," Claire said. "They're perfect where they are. I don't get fishing for fun."

Katchoo snorted. "That's just an excuse for guys to get together and try to boost each other's egos anyway, isn't it?"

"Yep," Katchoo said with more cynicism than anyone her age really ought to rightfully have. "This is nice though. Almost makes me not hate people for a while."

"I can still hate people," Claire volunteered. "I just don't hate fish."

She paused. "School doesn't suck for taking us on this."

"Point," Katchoo conceded. "People still suck for screwing with fish like this. And school definitely doesn't suck for this trip, either."
