The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship/Princess Cays, Bahamas]

Early in the morning, the cruise director came over the loudspeaker announcing the port of the day and some on-boat activities of interest. Those paying attention would learn that from 9am until 5pm, the Crown Princess would be docked in the lovely Princess Cays, Bahamas where guests were welcome to participate in glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or beach excursions for a portion of the day. Adults were encouraged toward the Sanctuary on the Sun Deck for a more private way to relax away from the teens.

"Not a swimmer, Lord Leto?" Merlin asked, having no problem swimming in a normal pair of trousers with the legs rolled up a bit.

Leto gave him a suspicious look. "I'm from a desert world," he pointed out. Merlin, he noted, didn't look like he was used to sun.

The sunburn wasn't really that bad. Really.

"It's shallow," Merlin replied, wading out further into the surf. "There's nothing to fear, you know."

"It's not fear," Leto snapped. "I just don't enjoy water."

It might not be completely true.

Merlin raised his hands in mock defeat. "Alright, alright. I won't say a word about it, Lord Leto."

"Like this?" Merlin looked up toward the sky. "Maybe on a few good days in the summer."

It could be a lot worse on Arrakis of course. "It burns more than you think. The wind might make you underestimate it."

"Dinah gave me that sunscreen already." Which you needed to reapply regularly.

Which he didn't.

Leto wasn't familiar with the sunscreen available here. "Then she might also be able to offer a remedy should the pain be too bad later," he said, smiling at Merlin.

Merlin smiled and rolled his eyes in good humor at that. "It's better than not having any sort of fun today."

"There are many ways to keep oneself entertained," Leto replied. He didn't feel like wearing a shirt as protection from sunburn made the day less enjoyable.

"No," Leto agreed. "Obviously they don't." He was enjoying himself reasonably well without going into the water.

"That's hardly the same thing." There was a thoughtful pause before he added, "Lord Leto."

An after thought and almost mockery of the title.

"So we do." Merlin replied with one more looked at him before plopping back into the water to get his hair wet again. "Have you never seen the sea before leaving your home?"

Merlin just rolled his eyes, relaxing in the water. "It hasn't come up in our conversations."

"No, I guess not." Leto was actually a little curious about what Ghanima and Merlin did talk about. Not that he would ever let Merlin know that. "Well, enjoy you... swimming."
