The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship/Princess Cays, Bahamas]

Early in the morning, the cruise director came over the loudspeaker announcing the port of the day and some on-boat activities of interest. Those paying attention would learn that from 9am until 5pm, the Crown Princess would be docked in the lovely Princess Cays, Bahamas where guests were welcome to participate in glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or beach excursions for a portion of the day. Adults were encouraged toward the Sanctuary on the Sun Deck for a more private way to relax away from the teens.

"If your Lord didn't want you on water, he wouldn't have let man invent the boat," Ghanima replied placidly. "Don't worry, I'll protect you."

Now would probably not be the best time to mention that she didn't know how to swim.

"From the tiny, scary fish," Biff said, laughing at himself. "I'm quite the macho guy here."

"They could be poisonous," Ghanima pointed out, peering down at a group swimming below them. "Brightly colored things often are. Or they could be Evil Cannibal Fish."

"I've heard about the Evil Cannibal Fish," Biff said, nodding. He so hadn't. "They look innocent and then bam, you've lost a leg."

"I wonder how they eat a whole leg so quickly. Do they swarm it? Infinitesimally expandable stomachs?" Ghanima poked at a fish again, heedless of the barrier. "We ought to do a study on them."

"Or eat some of their friends to warn them off," Biff said. "I want to go home with all of my limbs. I don't think I would do well as a pirate."

"You might be a very fetching pirate," Ghanima argued. "Although I must confess to a fondness for all of your limbs exactly as they are, so if we do experiment, we'll just have to feed them a student instead."

"How about that tall, twitchy one?" Biff suggested, pointing at random.

"Has that one done anything in particular to warrant your wrath, or are you picking randomly," Ghani asked cheerfully. "If I'm getting involved in a vendetta, I ought to know about it first."

"Nah," Biff said. "I don't even know his name. He's just the only person who looks twitchier than I am."

Ghani just laughed and gave his hand a squeeze. "You're doing fine, Biff. I think the only reason I'm not having a panic attack at so much water is I'm too busy focusing on the fish. I can have a one-track mind, sometimes."

"If you like, you can have a prize later. Drinks, dinner, it'll be gentleman's choice."

"I do like prizes," he agreed, leaning in a little. "Can I press my luck and get both?"

"I said your choice, didn't I?" Ghani replied. "I'm a woman of my word, as you well know. If you want dinner and drinks as your prize, then I'm sure I can accommodate."
