The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship/Princess Cays, Bahamas]

Early in the morning, the cruise director came over the loudspeaker announcing the port of the day and some on-boat activities of interest. Those paying attention would learn that from 9am until 5pm, the Crown Princess would be docked in the lovely Princess Cays, Bahamas where guests were welcome to participate in glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or beach excursions for a portion of the day. Adults were encouraged toward the Sanctuary on the Sun Deck for a more private way to relax away from the teens.

"Still looking," Anakin said, keeping pace with Ronon. A tie wasn't losing, after all. "But we weren't on board very long yesterday and I managed to be an excellent chaperone by staying away from annoying people."

Ronon nodded, glad it was an adult bugging him and not a student. "Gotta be rough when we brought fifty or sixty annoying people with us."

Anakin nodded. "I think I've taught at least half of them," he said. "I heard there's an adults-only area around here. I might have to check it out to avoid getting death-glares from my granddaughter by showing up at the pool in a swimsuit."

"Man, I'm just trying to avoid seeing things that it's just better I don't see," Ronon replied, still a little horrified by Anakin's granddaughter.

Not that he'd been innocent in many, many years.

Pardon the part where Ronon was no longer running at Anakin's side. He was a little busy gagging and laughing at that mental image.

"And people say I have no sense of humor," Anakin said, smirking and jogging in place as he waited for Ronon to catch up.

"Not cool." Ronon shuddered and rejoined Anakin. "Have you met her? She's here, I saw some shirtless kid truckin' her stuff on board and I'd bet she'd like you."

"I've seen her at staff meetings," Anakin said. "I've tried to stay out of her eyeline."

Because he was pretty sure she'd like him.

"She seems the type that wouldn't really stop just because I told her I have a pregnant wife," Anakin said, shuddering.

"You bring your wife on the boat here?" Ronon asked with just a hint of aww in his tone.

Anakin smiled and nodded. "They call it a babymoon, apparently. I think it's a stupid name for a vacation before a baby's born."

"It's cute," Ronon smiled, thinking Teyla deserved one of those. "Not the name, the you two getting a vacation part."

Anakin's smile widened. "It matched up with her school's spring break, too," he said, "so it seemed perfect."

"That's a lucky break," Ronon smiled. "When's she having the baby?"

"That's soon. You feeling ready?" Ronon asked, trying not to wonder about his friend's readiness.

If by "ready" Ronon meant "terrified", then yes.

"We have a lot of spreadsheets," Anakin said. "And books. And I have about seventeen doctors' numbers in my comlink just in case something goes wrong while we're here." He shrugged. "I'm not really used to this planet's health care."

Meaning he didn't trust it.

"Yeah, they do some weird stuff," Ronon agreed. "But the docs are smart. They just wanna help."

"Especially after I had a talk with her," Anakin agreed.

That poor, poor obstetrician.

"But things can still happen. I don't want things to happen."

"So don't let things happen," Ronon replied. "If she's anything like my friend, she won't go along with that, though."
