The Crown Princess - Monday [Ship/Princess Cays, Bahamas]

Early in the morning, the cruise director came over the loudspeaker announcing the port of the day and some on-boat activities of interest. Those paying attention would learn that from 9am until 5pm, the Crown Princess would be docked in the lovely Princess Cays, Bahamas where guests were welcome to participate in glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or beach excursions for a portion of the day. Adults were encouraged toward the Sanctuary on the Sun Deck for a more private way to relax away from the teens.

[OOC: The Princess Bridge Cam is fantastic. Cabins Post | Star Deck | Sun Deck | Promenade Deck | Cays Cruise | Snorkeling | Beach]

"I think some of these fish are colors I've never even heard of," he said with a nod. "Colors I've never even seen. They've just been hiding under the ocean this entire time."

"It's kind of crazy, isn't it?" Joan asked. "All of these amazing things in the world that we've never known about."

"Yeah, it's...yeah," he said, almost sort of humbled. "Is this your first cruise?"

Joan nodded. "Yeah. You too?"

"Yeah," he said and laughed. "Never even really been near the water before coming here."

"I've been around water," she said. "And on boats, even. But nothing like this."

"I've seen...pools?" That so didn't count. "This is more water than I've ever seen except on movies and the movies don't do this sort of thing any justice."

"No, they really don't," Joan agreed.

"I might come back later with a disposable camera to take pictures," he said. "Give me some keepsakes from this trip."

"That's a really good idea," she agreed.

"Is there anything you're looking forward to doing?" Ned asked curiously. Maybe he could get some ideas.

Joan shrugged. "Penelope and I were talking about doing some shopping. But mostly I'm just planning to enjoy seeing all of these new things. What about you?"

"Not getting left behind on one of the islands," he half teased. "And, uh, maybe doing some swimming."

"Swimming is good," Joan said. "And I'm sure no one will let you be left behind."

"It's a weird fear, I know," he admitted. "I have a lot of them. I'm trying to...ignore them."

"It's not that weird," she assured him. "But I know Kaylee wouldn't let the boat leave without you."

She didn't know Ned well, but she knew he showed up at cheer practice every week.

"Well, yeah, true," he said and laughed. "Even if I did get left, I could catch a ride with the fish and maybe get back eventually. That'd be a trip, right? From here to Fandom on the backs of some fish."

Joan laughed. "If they were fish from Fandom? That absolutely would not surprise me."

"I think I'd be too big for some of these guys," he said. "Downfall of being tall. No rides on the backs of fish."

"I so don't have that problem," Joan said.
