The Crown Princess - Monday [Cabins and Lido Deck]

It was a beautiful day in the Caribbean! The sun was bright in the cloudless sky, casting no shadows on the open section of the Lido deck: Sunbathers beware. Luckily, the Horizon Court offered umbrellas at some tables for the sun shy.

Near the pools were large lettered signs discouraging guests from diving or jumping into the water due to the lack of depth.

"No, it's not." It went without saying that Leto preferred the desert. "I believe my roommate aboard this ship is insane," he said. "Not to mention loud."

"Clearly anyone is a step down from me."

Modesty? Arthur needed no modesty. "Managed to get some sleep, did you?"

Leto had to laugh at that. "A little," he said. "Has your day been enjoyable?"

"I think this week is already looking better than the last," Arthur said, glancing at the servant that had arrived. "Another one of these," he instructed, holding up his beer.

Leto might have been slightly envious of the response Arthur got.

"I assume it will be better once I get used to the sea moving," he mumbled.

"Sea legs, I hear, take some time to come by," he said, then glanced at the waiter again. "And get my friend one of the same," Arthur continued, with a twitch of his brow that wasn't quite the Pendragon Death Glare, but promised its coming should he try anything.

You could almost say the man fled.

"Flying 'thopters is different," Leto said, "Not to mention riding worms. The sea is... uncontrollable." His eyes followed the escaping waiter. "Thank you."

"They say the sea is what it is," Arthur said, disregarding any thanks. It seemed only natural, formal and decorous- providing Leto with a drink was merely familiar territory, and he needed it. "Not quite hard ground under your feet, but the locals seem to have done their best to pretend it is."

"That they do," he agreed. "And once one gets used to a ship, I suppose it can be quite comfortable." Provided one could get served in the bar.

"It does seem to be lavishly stocked," Arthur said, with a quirk of his mouth. "If you can get the servants to part with it."

Being 16 and rather short for his age probably didn't help in that respect. Leto muttered something inaudible.

"I hope Merlin won't cause you trouble later," he said, changing the subject. "He didn't seem to be aware of the dangers of sunburn."

There was something to be said for being eighteen and physically imposing, yes.

"I think he's aware of it," Arthur said, dryly, "He's merely trying to thwart the elements. Which he's going to fail horribly at."

Leto gave Arthur a look of pity. As the waiter returned with their drinks, he happily accepted one.

"And did you attempt to swim?"

"Not today," Arthur said, neutrally, taking his own drink as well. "Some other time."

"I saw no reason to either." Leto doubted he would ever see a reason to do that.
