Well, the gummy bear rain had gone away again, as had the ugly Hawaiian shirts and swimwear - unless they had been someone's own genuine shirt/swimwear, in which case... Sorry about all the slander against their taste?

Anyway, yes, the ugliness was gone but apparently now the multiverse was concerned about proper eye protection, because Thursday morning saw people waking up with sunglasses they couldn't take off. Hope they were at least nice ones!

Also, unrelated, but the pool was full of Jello.

Our days will revolve around the multi-story Beach House--where the students are staying--and the adjacent powder-white sands, crystal lagoon and vibrant reef, which are all exemplary even by the Maldives' standards. Laze in the shady open-air lounge. Dive into the pristine waters. Work out in the gym. Cool down in the library. Go for a beach wander across the five-acre island.

The rooms are thankfully back to normal today, but you are waking up wearing sunglasses, so…enjoy that?

There's a morning breakfast buffet set up around the pool and a fleet of chefs eager to assist you in whatever food you're interested in having for lunch. You can even order up to your suites, or get the chefs to teach a cooking class!

Do you want to get all the spa treatments at the Oceans of Consciousness Spa? Do you want to do so while maybe not referring to it as the Oceans of Consciousness Spa? We understand that. The spa also offers mani/pedis and hair cuts.

It was a good thing that Cara was highly skilled at tuning people out, because no one should have to listen to anywhere near this much ridiculousness to simply get a massage.

The pool is completely filled with Jello. Have fun!

Harley was eyeing the Jello filled pool through her newly semi-permanent pink heart-shaped sunglasses, with interest.

"Well this could be the best or the worst!"

Steve grinned at her over his own sunglasses. "How so?" he asked.

"'Cause it's squishy," Harley said, "but it's also squishy!"

Clear as coal as always, Harls.

"So it's a question of whether you'll bounce on top of it or get really, really stuck?" Steve asked, taking a stab at translating Harley.

Hit the gym, go to the library, get snacks in the kitchen, lounge in the lounge. Tell us where you are so we can join you.

Flint was getting frustrated trying to read a book indoors while stuck in sunglasses. Give him a minute, he'd figure out the obvious solution.

Are you tired of the beach yet? Really? Have you tried the yoga?

Henry had tried the snorkling. He really had. It was just that the second his feet had left the ocean floor, he'd been hit by such a surge of terror that he'd had to return to shore.

And so, for the fifth day in a row, he came no further to the activities than the beach. Wandering up and down it, kicking at shells and poking at little critters skittering over the sand.

He was perhaps getting a bit bored.

(And boredom caused his mind to wander, and-- well. Now he was a bit downcast as well.)

Oh, this is some quality rich-person ridiculousness. No modifications on the underwater vehicles to make them faster, please. Anakin. Tony.

The great thing about this place was that if there was something the kids wanted to do and Jaina didn't, they could just go with a nanny! And honestly they probably needed a break from her, too.

And that was fine. Because look how cool this looked.

Skywalkers were gonna Skywalker.

"I bet we could make these faster."

Anakin, read the narrative.

"That will end in someone normal getting hurt," Jaina pointed out. "Unless you buy yours..."

Anakin looked thoughtful, then had a brief conversation with the seabob guy.

"I am absolutely not buying one," Anakin said, stalking back. "Rory would murder me."

"That bad, huh," she said.

"I think Rory's car is worth less money," Anakin said.

Jaina whistled.

"And you probably want to send the kids to college." But if you didn't...

"At least one of them," Anakin agreed.

Set sail in search of the hundreds of dolphins that call Baa Atoll home. Join our marine biologists for an insightful briefing before boarding a traditional wooden dhoni for front-row seats to an impressive acrobatics show, complete with refreshments.

Wasn't there some joke about lesbians and sea mammals? Anyway, Steph was definitely not turning down this opportunity. Dolphins.

"There's going to be dolphins!" Lexi told her excitedly, in case Steph didn't already know.

"We've been a little..." Insane? "...about it all day," Kitty said.

Steph grinned through the sunglasses that looked like she'd gotten them out of a swag bag at a con at Lexi. "Right? It's going to be so awesome."

Which was to say that sorry, Kitty, Steph might not be helping with the insanity of it all.

"I'm gonna ride one," Lexi said confidently.

Kitty shook her head. Help, Steph. Help on that.

As much as younger Steph sympathized with the sentiment, yeah.

"Well, have you asked the dolphins if that's okay with them?" Steph asked. "Because it's kind of not cool if you decide you're gonna ride a dolphin whether they like it or not."

Uh. Maybe that would help?

Lexi looked confused under her little purple plastic sunglasses. They had daisies on them. "Why would they say no?"

"Because I said so," Kitty tried.

...well, it had been worth a try.

"Well," Steph said slowly, "maybe they don't feel up to it. Not feeling well, or just not in a good mood, who knows?"

You got yourself into this, Gingrich.

"Dolphins have bad moods?" Lexi asked.

"Everyone does. You have bad moods," Kitty pointed out.

"But they're dolphins."

Kitty had a kid. Of course they were going to meet the dolphins. 'Twas a law.

And at least she was putting the annoyingly mandatory sunglasses to good use.

Look, by this point, someone stealing the yacht was a tradition, and Mariner was pretty sure she could wrangle some extra credit for her piracy class out of this.
