Voavah Island, the Maldives [Tuesday Evening]

The fun didn't stop at sunset on Tuesday evening, either. The beach was still there, the spa was still there...

Oh, and also there's a yacht party!

A party? With food?

Don't mind Harley overindulging like whoa, as usual. If you could snack on a bunch of different cuisines from all over all in one place, you took the chance! Especially when you'd been slacking about going to new exotic food spots thanks to some unfortunate life changes.

So yes Harley was going to keep piling things onto her plate.

Steve was even wearing boat shoes for a yacht party (Tony's influence)! He was also eating entirely too much food (he didn't remember ever trying Czech!) and bopping tunelessly along with the Europop.

Henry had never been on a boat before!

Unfortunately for him, he was also unlikely to remember it, considering the amount of drinks that kept getting handed to him when he as much as looked at the bar.

But he was there, drinking. And, after about half an hour, discovered the Czech section of the buffet.

He-- well, somewhere he felt guilty. Everywhere else, just sort of rosy. And, after another hour of food and drink--

"Zástupy děveček, potoky vína, dnes mě nic nesere, jsem mezi svýma. Dnes mě nic nesere, dneska se slaví, příteli pijem, než zbělaj nám hlavy!"

--singing in ways even the translator microbes didn't know how to deal with.

Stark, who had been on this vacation the entire time and doing activities, had decided that perhaps he ought to do a bit more interacting on this vacation and go places where other people might be. Like a party on a boat!

Liliana was reclounging (shut up, it was a word if she wanted it to be a word) with popcorn and the giant screen.

Why?

Because what better way to watch the National Costume portion of whatever pageant or whatever this was? The bigger the screen, the more details she could make out in order to better judge the fuck out each country being represented (or occasionally make notes for her own bevy of dressmakers in the rare instance something passed muster).

Look, sometimes you had to indulge in a bit of delightful pettiness. Especially after an extended stint in the 'the Oceans of Consciousness Spa.' At least this entertainment would only result in a metaphorical body count.

"Miss Albania, darling. Please put that carpet and curtain fringe back in whatever grandmother's living room you stole it from."

[Send your petty bitches with opinions about fashion (or anybody you think would have a good time in general) over here, it's open!]

Flint had been sleeping on the beach and so he was surprised to find another movie set up tonight.

"...what is that outfit?" he finally asked when words returned to him. Damn, Albania. What was this?

"Nominally, it's a costume representing Albania's country, culture, or heritage," Liliana said, waving at him to sit down and join her. "Practically, however, I believe it is an advertisement for one of those carpet cleaning business that put videos up on the internet."

"I'm going to need a very strong drink for this," Flint decided after a moment's consideration, flopping into a beanbag...sofa...thing and missing Angola. He looked up again in time for Argentina. "Feathers," he noted astutely. "Why is that young woman so parrot-like?"

Honestly? Ignis was quite certain that judging this pageant based solely on the reactions of those around them (Liliana in particular, always, of course) was actually a good deal better than witnessing them more directly.

More amusing, more engaging to the imagination, and far less visceral and likely to put him off his popcorn, surely.

He was still getting a description of every outfit, murmured softly in his ear--that was, when she wasn't ranting out loud for everyone's benefit.

"So. Take a race car driver's red jumper, bedazzle it in rhinestones, including a pair of black, knee-high, stilleto boots and oversized helmet made from what very well might be papier-mâché under all that glitter, and then give her what appears to an oversized ass-bow made from the black and white checked flag, except they moved it up to her back in order to suggest she's some kind of...racecar fairy godmother? And then you'll have Miss Brazil's costume."

Jon had meant to go on the boat, but had fallen asleep after his massage and missed it. So now he was wandering down to the beach and...

"Well, I suppose it's an improvement on last night's movie." Sorry not sorry, Anakin.

Did someone send up a 'petty bitches with opinions about fashion' flare? Or had Lydia simply wandered in? One of those, certainly.

"What am I seeing?" It was an earnest question. Lydia didn't even know birds came in those colors. "Oh, no, wait, those are chicken feathers." Cheap.

The important thing was that she was here and got to appreciate this nonsense in all it's glory. (The bitching, of course. The costumes were more like 'glory.')

"I am personally offended by Argentina's offering this year," Liliana agreed. "I've been to that country. I own property in that country. And I know for a fact that the designers didn't have to rob a summer camp's craft room, they just chose to."

"Ostrich can't be that difficult to come by," Lydia mused. "Or...some bird native to Argentina, which isn't a chicken." Decimate the wildlife for fashion? Why not?

"...oh. Oh, Belgium, no." Speaking of cheap. "They make the most lovely lace!"
