Voavah Island, the Maldives [Sunday afternoon into evening]

The portal has dropped us onto Voavah, our private island for the week. The weather is sunny with a slight breeze and photogenic fluffy clouds overhead. We're going to hover around 80 degrees F/27 degrees C for the entire week--the temperature doesn't drop as the sun goes down. We've just missed the afternoon rainstorm, so everything is a little wet and the flowers smell amazing. Welcome to the Maldives!

HOTEL

Our days will revolve around the multi-story Beach House--where the students are staying--and the adjacent powder-white sands, crystal lagoon and vibrant reef, which are all exemplary even by the Maldives’ standards. Laze in the shady open-air lounge. Dive into the pristine waters of either the pool or the ocean. Work out in the gym. Cool down in the library. Go for a beach wander across the five-acre island. Tomorrow we'll have adventures; today is for getting your bearings.

ROOMS

Students are sharing two-bedroom mezzanine suites as we add floors to the beach house, with ocean views and an outdoor shower. (And an indoor shower, if outdoor showers aren't your thing.) Each bedroom comes with two twins beds (or one king, depending on which is funner). Teachers will be located in the multi story because we do what we want three-bedroom Beach Villa or the two bedroom Water Villa.

[OOC: Room assignments are here, so you're sharing a floor with another couple. There's a central common area with a moddable game (pingpong, fussball, pool, etc.), and a small kitchen. NSFW goes into personal journals!]

Beach House, 4th floor (Bedroom 1)

Flint walked up to the fourth floor of the beach house with his, well, one bag with a change of clothing and went out immediately onto the veranda. This felt like home, only better, cleaner, and with no one trying to horribly murder him. He could get used to this!

(This would change immediately when he discovered his roommate.)

Lydia was a bit distracted as she entered by telling the attendant where to put her luggage, as she had brought considerably more than one change of clothes. This was quite nice, wasn't it?

Well, Anakin wasan't on the beach, so Anakin was one happy hater of sand. Yes, he should check on the students, but they were grown-ass adults and there was a hammock and this was vacaaaaaaaaaaation.

He sent back a selfie to his wife with the ocean in the background and the hashtag "WorkingHard," then watched his phone blow up with annoyed replies as he grinned.

Beach Villa, 2nd floor (Bedroom 1)

"Holy cow," Steve said, tossing his bag onto the bed and staring out the window. "How have we not been to this part of the world before?"

This was fine. Jon could absolutely do this.

Just so long as he didn't stare too long at the huge empty stretch of ocean, he was fine. The sun was nice, and he'd gotten used to the sound of waves living on Fandom.

He'd set his things on one of the beds in his room and come out to sit with his back to the view, enjoying the fresh air.

Beach House, Fifth Floor (Room 1)

"Well, this is absolutely mad," Henry said. He'd dropped his few belongings by one of the beds. And now he was standing by the window.

"How far does the water go?"

Water Villa, Second Floor

Was Liliana feeling just a little bit smug as she realized that she and Ignis had the entire second floor to themselves?

That was a stupid question, she always felt a little bit smug; today she was feeling very smug. Sharing was for other people.

DINING

Tonight we're starting vacation with a pool party under the stars with all the moddable food, complete with inflatable pool toys and a DJ who starts after the traditional boduberu (big drum) band is finished.

Well, it was dinner, so Steve was wearing a shirt, but it was also a pool party, so he had his swim trunks on. This felt weird.

He was comforting himself by putting an enormous pile of seafood on his plate and was now looking for a place to sit.

SPA

Do you want to get all the spa treatments at the Oceans of Consciousness Spa? Do you want to do so while maybe not referring to it as the Oceans of Consciousness Spa? We understand that. The spa also offers mani/pedis and hair cuts.

Liliana stepped into the spa, started reading the explanations about what they were offering, got as far as the massage named Truth, and promptly stepped back outside again. Absolutely not. Just no.

She needed many more ridiculous tropical drinks with truly unconscionable amounts of alcohol first.

AROUND THE BEACH HOUSE

Of course you want to go to the beach. It's all around you! Resident dolphins, turtles and rays visit Voavah’s lagoon daily, while green and hawksbill turtles nest nearby.
