Endor [Wednesday, December 31]

Another sunrise, another chirpy Luke waking everyone up.

"The portal'll be opening in a few hours, so we have time to put the final touches on the village before you go back to Fandom," he said, sipping awful coffee with the cheer of a guy who'd spent far too many hours with the military. "If we get done early, you'll have time to explore some more, too."

Luke smiled. "Thank you so, so much for all of your work here these last few days."

Brooke had been having dreams. Of Ewoks. Completely filling the halls of the Fandom High dorms and leaving her unable to get to class.

Yeah, maybe it was time to go.

Lee woke up a little easier today.

...

And tried to go right back to sleep.

After racing speed bikes with John yesterday, Gavin was a little sluggish getting up this morning. It was just so warm and quiet here.

Oh well. He had to get up sometime and this time seemed like it would be as good as any time to wake up.

That all made sense in his head.

Penelope was snoring quietly, buried down in her sleeping bag as she was.

The only good thing that came from the moment of waking up for Turtle was that at least today was the last day. She groaned, rolling over a little, and trying to snag at least a little bit more sleep.

Hurley ached today, he had worked very hard yesterday.

He was a little grumbly upon initial waking, but was soon back to his happy disposition.

Damn. Right when she got to the really good part of the dream.

And God, she was sore.

Liz actually hadn't minded sleeping in the sleeping bag, even though it was slightly uncomfortable she had enjoyed the new experience.

She was quicker at waking up then she had the previous day.

Minsc seemed yet again very unperturbed by the early hour, waking up easily, although a bit tense as he first made sure that the settlement was not under attack (old habits died hard), and then, laughing, went about some morning stretching routines with Boo to get ready to make the most out of the final day of working.

Considering his house back in Fandom was entirely in shambles on the inside, no one would want Minsc involved in the interiors here. So, instead, he was making sure all the thatching the roofs and things in way-high-up places were still a-okay.

And Boo was checking all the way-really-low places, too.

If Turtle could manage getting out of the work, she was going to. Instead, her interest was much more in walking around the village and getting a bit more market research with the Ewoks themselves. A lot of them just looked at her like she was crazy, which, really, was creepy. They were a little creepy in general, in a cute-creepy way.

John spent the time he had left working, wanting to make sure he'd been helpful to the effort despite playing around the day before.

Jaina was still doing whatever work she could, kind of sorry they'd have to leave. You couldn't be in a bad mood with Ewoks around. She was sort of amazed no one had marketed that as therapy.

Hoshi spent some time walking about the village, amazed at how much they'd all accomplished.

The Ewoks had surrounded Indiana once more. This time they were offering him a new hat (http://206.47.170.43/channels/images/cossackhat186x248.jpg).

"No. Really, I can't take," he said trying to be polite. "I have one and I'm sure the real Solo guy would appreciate it more."

Since bringing an Ewok back with him seemed highly out of the question, Minsc made sure to make a grand occasion out tracking down every little one of the little guys for a hug and exultation of what an honour it had been to visit in as much of their language as he'd managed to pick up, which was a surprising amount.

Peyton was actually a little sad to leave the ewoks behind. She'd spent time playing with some of the woklings during the evenings and she knew she'd miss them.

Brooke kept looking at one of the babies, and then surreptitiously at her purse, wondering if she could smuggle one out.

At least until one of the older ones noticed and started poking her with his stick. "What, I'm not doing anything."
