Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Québec City, Québec [Thursday Evening]

Another day almost done meant another evening to pack with fun!

The weather? Still nice and crisp, a perfect excuse to go drink or eat something to warm you up!

Frontenac Suite

Last night, this room had been a haven for boozy gelatin and loosened inhibitions, and tonight, it was playing host to....a baby.

Was Summer a little tiffed that the reason she had ababy right now was because there was a dinner party tonight and she hadn't been invited? A little, yeah! But, like, okay, whatever, she got it? Space was limited and Ignis and Stark didn't get along, so if someone was going to be cut, it would be them. And she was a little out of babysitting practice, but she'd had a million fake kids before and also did this way back when with her brother, so it was fiiiine.

She did wonder if using a precious evening of her vacation time to watch his kid meant she didn't have to worry about getting Prompto a birthday present now, though, too...

There could be booze and loosened inhibitions again later. Hopefully there would be!

Stark, being the soft touch he was, was happy to spend the evening entertaining Noctra. He was on the floor with her even now!

And he was already thinking of ways to try and make it up to Summer that they were here and not in a suite down the hall.

"None of the children that have visited me have ever been so small."

And you know what? Summer was more than happy to getting to lounge on the chaise and catch up with things on her phone, especially for her marketing stuff for Atton's band, while Stark entertained the baby. It had turned out to be kind of perfect like that.

Well, it was for now. Just wait until she started screaming out of frustration because she couldn't get Stark's mask.

"I had one show up once that was about Noctra's age," she said, "but he was definitely not small. Not until we shrunk him down with a shrink ray, anyway."

And what a statement that was.

"I never did find out who the dad of that one was," she mused, almost absently as she paused her texting to ponder.

And, one day, she may wish she never did have that answered, but, for now, she was just dedicatedly returning to her phone.

Oh, like Stark wouldn't take off his mask for her and glow at her a little. Or a lot.

Pity her poor parents who wouldn't be able to glow on command later when she asked for it.

"That's... it's probably best not to think of how that came about, isn't it?"

Stark preferred thinking of how little gross gingers had come into being.

Well, of course he'd like thinking about that. It's not like they just sprung out of a lab or something.

....actually, no, that was entirely possible.

"Yeah," Summer agreed. "I was not even going to question it. Like, big giant unexplained baby? Honestly? That totally tracks. Unfortunately."

The gross ginger children were the only ones Stark had experienced who were even remotely possible.

"You do lead an odd life," he said.

He paused to make a ridiculous face at Noctra.

"And other versions of you lead even odder ones. I suppose I ought to be grateful I've never had a child show up that claimed Rygel as a parent."

Champlain

Beta was hardly a food connoisseur, but it was hard to go on this trip and not at least develop some appreciation for fine dining.

Tonight she ended up at Champlain, trying out the vegetarian discovery menu just to see if she could send any ideas for dishes back to Zo.

It was... a lot, but luckily she'd spent enough time back at the base eating meals prepared by Zo that she wasn't in any danger of all the plant fiber being a shock to her system. Everything else, though? Yeah, she was in for a couple of hours of discomfort at least.

Worth it, though.
