Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Québec City, Québec [Wednesday Evening]

Rumor had it there was a big room party happening on Wednesday night, but there were also still options for those looking for something a little more private to do, or just less party-minded.

The weather was mostly behaving as well, although perhaps with a light, refreshing sprinkling of rain here and there.

Halfway through the trip, people, try not to miss out on any Québécois fun!

There were other ways she could distract herself. With help, even. Just saying.

"Yes, well." Steph feigned a sigh and shook her head. "Some people are losers and don't grasp that."

So basically what the narrative had said.

Well, she could always be imaginative with Steph.

"But not us."

Who was also wildly imaginative! The possibilities were endless.

"Lucky us." Steph toasted Vi with her drink. "Sucks to be everyone else."

"Yeah, it does." Vi grinned and toasted Steph back.

Steph glanced past Vi and quirked an eyebrow, more in amusement than anything but she still leaned in close to Vi's ear and murmured, "Some chick over there is checking you out."

She wasn't inclined to do such things as toss Vi over her shoulder and run away with her, but hey, if Vi wanted to be demonstrative about it...

Don't lie, Steph, if you could throw Vi over your shoulder you'd probably be tempted.

"Is she?" Vi didn't even look over her shoulder as she leaned in to kiss Steph, long and lingering. "Sucks to be her. Maybe she can hook up with one of the girls who've been checking you put."

Oh, she'd definitely be tempted, but it wasn't happening so she didn't think about it much.

"See, we're doing people a public service," Steph decided, cuddling up against her. "Improving people's social lives, and for free even. She's allowed to think you're hot, though. It's a correct opinion."

Vi kept her arm slung around Steph's shoulders and idly glanced in the direction Steph had earlier. Just because she wasn't interested didn't mean she wasn't curious.

"Glad you think so." Since otherwise Vi'd still be sadly pining after her.

The girl at the other table suddenly grabbed her drink and took a sip, but not quite fast enough to hide her crestfallen expression.

Except now she was kind of checking Steph out, too.

Steph rested her head against Vi's shoulder and put a hand on her knee. "In case there was any doubt left after we've been dating for how long now..."

A terrifyingly long time, actually, so it would remain a question.

Look, she was probably better off avoiding these two dramatic idiots anyway.

"Doesn't feel like long at all." Nice way of avoiding the issue, Vi.

Flee, random club onlooker! Run far away from the twin fangs of angst and drama!

"Yeah, it's like I lose track of the time when I'm with you," Steph teased. "Don't know how that happens."

It was a complete mystery. For anyone who happened to be sitting at this table.

They were hot, but also sometimes hot messes!

"Sometimes when I'm with you, a day feels like a month." Someone thought she was hilarious. "In a good way."

And frequently they were both at the same time. That was more than any other person should be expected to handle.

"The best way," Steph said, not really sure why that made her snicker, but okay. "Not gonna get that with anybody else."

Take the hint, disappointed club-goer.

It's take a certain kind of person to put up with their combined bullshit. Someone they probably wouldn't find in the club.

"Damn right," Vi said, kissing her temple.

This was probably the wrong city entirely for that.

"I have the hottest date in this entire damn place," Steph half yelled over the music. "And she's not going home with any of you. Deal."

Oh, no. Now they were being obnoxious.

Wrong reality even.

"I think you mean I have hottest date."

Extremely obnoxious.

Whether that was a good or a bad thing was anyone's guess.

"You know there's only one way to resolve this conflict," Steph said, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Karaoke battle."

Sorry, everyone else here. So sorry.

Well, there was at least one person who'd be deeply upset at the idea of having to share Vi with even one person, let alone two. Not to mention how distraught Saffron would be.

"Oh, is that a challenge," Vi asked. "Because I accept."

Not sorry enough to actually stop them though.

It would probably be for the best if Saffron and Powder never joined forces.

Steph tossed back the rest of her drink in one go, slapped the table, and stood up.

"Bring. It."

Two souls united in wanting Vi's undivided attention.

Vi quickly followed suit. "Oh, it's been brought."
