It was a sunny, perfect day today. You might not even need your trapper hats! As a bonus, the school had rented a double-decker Hop On Hop Off bus so you could accidentally leave them there! Do not throw them from the bus. People would yell at you in French and English.

Kamala was totally getting BD his own phone at some point. Clearly so they could send memes back and forth and not collaborate or plot at all.

Cal let out another deep sigh, feeling his cheeks get hotter. "It's fine, it's a big bed so Arden and I each have our own space--BD, I can feel you shaking your head, stop," he said, turning so BD was behind him and he was in front of Kamala. "It's not a big deal, it's just like how we've been sleeping up on the roof." Minus, you know, her.

"Oh, so do you want me to join in so we can relive the nest experience?" Kamala teased and then she snapped her fingers in disappointment. "Damn. Bed's probably not big enough."

"I mean, it might be a little tight for three people. It fits two well. Separately," he added quickly. "Which is good, because I imagine Arden doesn't want her personal space invaded."

She just wanted him as a friend, it was tragic that things like this kept happening.

"Cal, you are literally one of the nicest guys I've ever met," Kamala said, giving him a sympathetic pat on the shoulder. "But I’ve seen you two on the roof and at movie nights. I watched you hold her during that whole parents’ weekend situation... and I’m still not ready to talk about that. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, I don’t think personal space is really an issue between you two."

"I am cutting you off from my phone forever," Cal threatened, before giving Kamala a sheepish look. "I just don't want to make her uncomfortable. She's been looking forward to this trip all week."

Kamala sighed and gave Cal a sad smile. “Okay. I get it,” Kamala replied. “But I’m going to leave you with one thought: If Grimm showed up later and Arden didn’t get better… would you be able to live with the fact that you never told her how you feel about her?”

Kamala have Cal a sympathetic look. “You know when my brother got married he was scared. He was flat broke and wasn’t sure of the future. So my dad said this to him and I’m saying it to you. A man has only one fundamental choice in life. To live a life in fear or love. The man who chooses love chooses joonoon. Passion. He chooses faith, courage. And the one who chooses love is never alone.”

She chuckled. “But you also have BD. And me. And everyone else in your corner.”

"That's a really nice saying. I feel like life has a lot of choices," Cal said, "but maybe some of them matter a little more than others. Fundamental choices are important, and that means not messing them up, especially when they involve other people who really, really deserve to be treated well."

“Okay,” Kamala relented. She’d been down this road too many times. “I know you want the best for her and I hope you figure that out for yourself one day too.”

She reached out to give Cal a hug… and then gave the BD backpack a pat. “Text me if anything changes,” she whispered to BD.
