It was a sunny, perfect day today. You might not even need your trapper hats! As a bonus, the school had rented a double-decker Hop On Hop Off bus so you could accidentally leave them there! Do not throw them from the bus. People would yell at you in French and English.

Rise and shine, Fandom! Or hide in your ridiculous rooms throughout the castle! Anakin doesn't care enough to find you all.

"Well, I was thinking of you and your affinity for water and all," Kamala replied. "It'd be cold for me but if you want to go to a lake or anything, I'll be happy to go with you. Or to the literary thing. Do you want to do a spa thing with me? I'll make arrangements and we can get our nails done, hair, the works!"

"I've never had any of that stuff done before," Eleanor revealed, probably shocking no one. Her smile was just a little smaller, because the closest thing she could think of was how she'd used to always help Lucy braid her hair or the small bit of pampering her grandmere offered in bringing her all those nice clothes. "So that sounds great."

It would be nice to have some more pleasant memories attached to those things.

"I'll look into some good lakes, too," she added, "but if not, I'm also perfectly fine with just moving into the hotel pool, too."

That glass ceiling!!

"Oooo! I heard good things about the pool. Definitely would like to do that one too," Kamala agreed. "And just let me know when you go to the literary society thing, I'll totally tag along if you want."

"I think it's more of a matter of if you want," Eleanor countered with a small chuckle. "Of course I'd want you to come with me, but I'd get if looking at a bunch of old books and exploring the Québécois literary scene with me didn't exactly sound like the most enticing date."

But there was in the way she pronounced Québécois with all of her Catholic school language skills in full force that she had a spark of an idea and added, "But I'll make it up to you, afterwards. Or before. We can do a little exploring and I'll try to impress you with the fact that I actually know a little bit of French, too."

Definitely more French than she knew Urdu, and a lot more French that she was humbly letting on, but, well, it had been taught at her school, and it was bolstered a bit when she'd had a French roommate.

"Okay, I admit that I am not the biggest reader in the world," Kamala replied, attempting to slip Eleanor's arm into hers. "But I know you are. And I know you'd love it there. So we can do that and then go exploring. Besides, my parents would flip if they knew you were broadening my horizons."

"And anything that helps impress your parents more," Eleanor said, happily accepting that arm and squeezing it a little with her own before leaning in against Kamala a little, "more than works for me."

Because even though she would admit that she'd done a pretty good job of that so far, she still felt that she'd need to collect as many points as she possibly could now for the eventual moment when she would actually need them when things went horribly awry.

"Eh, You've already impressed them," Kamala said giving her a quick kiss. "And that's not an easy thing to do with my parents. Trust me."

Kamala had been trying to impress them for years. It took a bangle and becoming a superhero to get their approval.
