It was a sunny, perfect day today. You might not even need your trapper hats! As a bonus, the school had rented a double-decker Hop On Hop Off bus so you could accidentally leave them there! Do not throw them from the bus. People would yell at you in French and English.

Rise and shine, Fandom! Or hide in your ridiculous rooms throughout the castle! Anakin doesn't care enough to find you all.

The hotel has amazing restaurants, but if you're out already, maybe you want to try somewhere else? Or you can go on an Old Québec Food Tour!

The problem with having so many different restaurants and eateries available was trying to fit them all into a single week. Which was why Liliana was attending the food tour; five different restaurants for a single meal? Perfect. Even the walk wasn't that terrible; a mile broken up by multiple stops to sit and try new food? Well within Liliana's physical exertion tolerance.

And if the tour guide or tour group proved more annoying than informative? She had no problems falling back and only joining up for the meals. Though at least at the beginning, the guide was proving to be engaging. Hopefully it would last.

Ignis, at least, was very engaged, but that was hardly any surprise to anyone who knew words like 'food tour' were basically like catnip to him. He only wished it was a bit longer than merely five different places, but he supposed it would ben an excellent way to at least start dipping his toes into the culinary scene of the city, and he was excited to discover where it might branch out and take him from there.

He was even able to forget, on occasion, that he had to try and remember to stop somewhere to find a good pair of darkened glasses to replace the ones that had, unfortunately, met an unexpected fate yesterday. Liliana's itinerary for the day was impressively tight, but surely there could be some moment where they could steal away five or ten minutes to just duck into a shop?

A bold thought, indeed, for someone who was already feeling like this tour alone could use a good portion of extra minutes added to it!

Not as engaged as he might have been, considering his morning.

Whoops! No time to stop! Must keep up with the tour! Which, sadly, ended away from the various and sundry shopping areas available to them (but only a convenient five hundred meters to the crypts, and they themselves were a mere five hundred meters from their hotel, so long as you took the walking paths) and they simply didn't have time to go elsewhere before their scheduled massages began!

Surely tomorrow they would have a spare moment. Surely.

"Mmm, as much as I'm looking forward to the sucre à la crème, I've got to say, trying a local gin is rather exciting. Trying a local wine is expected--" in fact, she'd marked several wine tours as a potential activity for later in the week "--but I do believe this is my first time where gin is showcased as well."

Duh, of course Raiden was going on a food tour! There were so many new things to eat in a city like this, after all. He might also be quizzing their tour guide for tips at the end of said tour.

He was also definitely wearing his new hat on top of his usual backwards baseball cap. What? He thought it was fun!

"Later tonight, we'll be going to a multi-course dinner featuring First Nations cuisine," Liliana offered. "If that's something you think you might be interested in trying for yourself sometime, darling, I'll be happy to pass along the name of the restaurant."

"Oh, that sounds great," Raiden said. He'd have to do some research to find out if it was the kind of "multi-course" situation that could handle him or if he'd be both pre- and post-gaming at McDonald's, but, "I would really appreciate that, thanks."

She pulled out her phone and scrolled to the restaurant. "Of course, darling, my pleasure. Restaurant La Traite she said, showing him the menu shed pulled up. "We're going for the five course meal, though there are other options. I've heard good things about Sagamité as well, but La Traite was closer to our evening entertainment."

"Oh, this looks great," Raiden said as he made notes on his own phone (there were a couple of typos, but with his fingers and the keyboard it was bound to happen). Damn, had it been a long time since he'd had seal. Of course, there were reasons for that, blah blah don't hunt things to extinction or we can't eat them any more blah. He wondered if he could get Gray to go with him or if his picky little brother would think the food was too weird. "Thank you again, and I hope you guys have a great time. Are you enjoying Quebec so far?"

It was full of French people, but Liliana seemed like she might vibe with that.

"There's a crypt," Liliana said with glee. "A crypt with nine hundred tombs in it. We're going to explore it after lunch!"

Shockingly, so far Liliana's favorite people were the dead ones.

"This is our first time out of the hotel, however," she said, reining in her enthusiasm a bit. "Yesterday was spent getting further acquainted with our suite."

Which was what the kids were calling it these days.

"Nine hundred tombs, huh?" Raiden said. Well, it was spooky season, but it still wouldn't have been his choice for how to spend his vacation. Still, if it floated her boat... "Wow, that's a lot of tombs. And the suites are really something, aren't they? I think mine is bigger than my apartment." Of course, he had to share it, but so far Lana seemed fine.

He also wasn't a necromancer, which probably factored into his disinterest, at least a bit.

"Ours is fantastic," Liliana agreed. "Other than the fireplace being merely decorative, I don't think we have any complaints. I will have to come up with a reason for us to use the dining room at least once before the week is out."

Le Chic Shack

After the joys of zip lining, Arden brought everybody who wanted to join her over to Le Chic Shack, for hefty burgers, housemade sodas and milkshakes, and various types of poutine for people to order and share around. Between the bison, the sodas, and the poutine, she figured that it would be both filling enough to please their stomachs and Canadian enough that it wouldn't feel like going to some random burger joint in the States.

Another text was sent out to anyone who might be hungry but had skipped out on the morning's zip lines and then Arden was settling in to pour over the menu to properly choose something, not just order the whole menu.

Kamala had a quick chat with the waiter, and when she heard the beef and gravy were halal, her eyes lit up like a predator spotting its prey.

"I’m about to devour this entire menu," she said, barely containing her excitement.

Look, Arden wasn't going to do her bestie dirty like that regardless of whatever real Quebec City had to say about it.

"Right?!" Arden laughed. "Literally the only way to handle this is to just order everything and then share it all, you know?"

So long as everybody kept their chicken away from her stuff.

Kamala started to do calculations in her head, trying to do proportions in her head to see what the ratio of sharing vs. eating her own food would be. It's been years since she tried to the math in her head but finally her mind made her do the right thing.

"Yes, but I don't think anyone here is in the mood for poultry right?" Kamala giving eyes to the rest of the table so they could catch her meaning.

Because Kamala was a ride or die bestie.

And there wasn't a lot of super heroes from Canada, right?

"Just as long as you leave at least a little bit for the rest of us," Eleanor said, fondly leaning in to nudge Kamala's shoulder with her own, but obviously clearly pleased that she'd found something she could really dig into and enjoy. And, before they all got too busy needing their hands to actually eat, she was maybe going to slip her hand under the table to find Kamala's and hold onto it until then. "And eat just the food from the menu, and not the actual menu itself."

Pretty rich talk from the one person in the room who probably could eat the whole restaurant if she really wanted to.

Kamala grinned at Eleanor’s nudge. “No promises. I mean the menu is probably the healthiest thing to eat here,” she teased, pretending to eye the menu like she was actually considering taking a bite out of it. Then, when Eleanor’s hand found hers under the table, Kamala’s smile softened. After weeks of hand holding, her heart still did that little skip it always did when Eleanor did something sweet like that.

“Okay, okay,” Kamala said, laughing and giving her hand a little squeeze. “I’ll stick to the food... for now."

"Maybe," and now that there was hand-holding, it was going to take a concentrated effort on Eleanor's part to not fall into too much canoodling with all their friends at the table, "they'll let you take it to go."

"Yeah, but have you ever noticed that when you take food home from the restaurant it's never quite as good," Kamala joked. "I'm mean the actual menu itself doesn't need refrigeration so maybe it will be better?"

"Oh-ho-ho," said Graham, chuckling in approval and rubbing his stomach, which let out an agreeing murmur of anticipation as he strolled into the restaurant with everyone and started having a glimpse around, "oh, yeah, this'll definitely do!"

If he was completely honest, the way Arden was building it up like he'd definitely not be leaving hungry and have to all but be rolled out, he was sort of anticipating a buffet, but he would have no problem being satisfied especially once those milkshakes came into the picture!

Could he afford to try almost every one of them on a knight's salary? Probably not, but he was definitely trying a few.

Buffets were nowhere near as good, Graham! Not like food fresh and made to order just for them! But she figured with all the different types of burgers, salads, a poutines to try, there was a fair case to be made for not leaving until they were groaning as much as the table had been.

"Thought you'd appreciate it," Arden said. "No pies, but I'll keep a look out for a place that's known for them."
