The sun might be setting, but the temperatures are barely dropping, and there's still plenty to do if relaxing for the evening isn't your idea of fun.

"I don't think that ought is as reassuring as you think it is," said Summer, who was definitely benefiting from a long day of handwavy activities to create a buffer from any sense of awkwardness that they could be experiencing right now. Plus, you know, mixing drinks and then enjoying them was helping a bit, too. "But I will say...if he hasn't murdered you yet, you ought to be safe, too. It's not like he hasn't had ample opportunity."

Stark had also participated in different handwavey activities (though he was considering that he hadn't actually packed anything for swimming in due to being distracted by being the wrong shape).

"I'm not sure I'll ever be truly safe from Anakin. Though if he were going to kill me he wouldn't be able to torment me in the summer and he would miss that."

They had a very healthy and normal friendship, those two.

Then how convenient that he had a roommate that had packed copiously for all situations, regardless of shape!

"That's true," said Summer, to whom this was a completely logical reason to keep someone alive. "You're safe, then, I'd say, at least until the fall."

A beat.

"From Anakin, anyway."

No guarantee on raccoons, squirrels, or whatever else ~~like vibes maybe idk~~ might decide to torment him in the meantime.

Hopefully that roommate hadn't packed Speedos because Stark might die of embarrassment. But it would be funny.

"I hope so," Stark said. "I'd rather not have to worry over much about him."

There were so many other things to worry about, after all.

It would have been hilarious, but it also would have meant Summer would have possibly been wearing a Speedo, and she respected herself far too much for that.

They were pink, though. Violently so.

"You'd rather worry about other things?" asked Summer, with a quirk of a brow that clearly already knew the answer to that.

Stark could wear violently pink shorts. That would still be hilarious. Someone ought to convince him to go swimming!

"I don't like the worrying it just happens," he protested. "Often." Constantly, really.

Summer did also have a super cute new bikini she was dying to show off, too!

"You?" Blame Anakin; Summer's sarcasm was now sharply honed. "Noooo..."

Perhaps they ought to go swimming at some point. And totally have no vibes while doing so.

"I don't mean to do it! But I'll try not to while I'm here."

Except about things like how Travis had run off on Saturday and how he'd acted on too many urges last week and maybe he could never look a good portion of the island in the eye again and where would he get pizza from now? And vibes. There were always vibes to worry about.

How fortunate, then, that he was sharing a room/bed with someone with which he had absolutely no vibes with ever.

"I'm pretty sure," said Summer, "it's a crime to worry about shit in a place like this."

She, obviously, had nothing to worry about herself, obviously. Nothing at all...110% Worry and Vibe Free.

Just sharing a bed/room with a friend, like friends do. Friends who have made out a few times and seen each other in various states of undress and totally had not considered making any poor choices last week.

"I wouldn't want to commit any crimes. I'd much rather not worry. And relax. And see things. It's very different here."

"If you can't relax in a place like this," Summer said, shaking her head a little as she looked around and just soaked it all in for about the millionth time since arriving, "you're probably hopeless."

"I'm relaxing now!" Mostly.

"Maybe tomorrow I'll relax even more. Any recommendations?"

He might even end up very relaxed on Wednesday due to the room party!

"Swimming is very relaxing," Summer offered. "Sitting on the beach and working on a tan is also very relaxing. We could hit up the spaaaaaa..."

"I only ever went to a spa once. With you and Rey and Annie. I...didn't do a very good job relaxing then," Stark said unnecessarily. "Maybe I ought to try again."

"It's hard to top the Space Spa," Summer noted, "but you're also way more relaxed to begin with than you were back then, so you've got that going for you. I bet this place can really pull its weight in the spa-game, though."

"Maybe I'll try that again someday too." If he ever got invited again.

"I am though. Better than I was then." Better in nearly every way except for there were now more people he felt awkward around after last week. Oops?

"You've helped. With that."

There was a little pause, as if some mental equivalent of a construction worker in a reflective vest started waving a warning flag that the path ahead had the potential to be rife with danger.

So she carefully veered toward a comfortably vague "I help with a lot of things," with a shrug to match. "I'm just--"

She was going to say good like that, but, ohgod, what if that just lead him to agree? Ugh.

"--a helpful person," she tried.

"You are." What, like he wasn't going to agree with that?

"Did you learn to make these drinks that Anakin did, too?"

That, he could agree with. Summer's helpfulness was, like, a universal truth now, borne from that ever-present desperation to avoid the inevitable state of being expendable.

"I did," she informed him with a proud nod. "I thought it would be fun and useful. Especially for rubbing in Tino's face when we get back."

Expendable was not a word Stark would ever use for Summer.

"Were there other ones besides the one that changes color?"

And obviously Summer's version would be better than Anakin's.
