Baltimore Trip

A little more then an hour after leaving Fandom,the bus pulled up at the Inner Harbor Parking Garage. It's just minutes from most of the Inner Harbor Attractions.

"Okay everyone, have fun and be back here for the bus at six," said Isabel as she pulled on her coat.

Molly smiled as she watched the polar bear play. She was perfectly happy to stay here for a while if Aeryn wanted to.

For a while it doesn't even occur to Aeryn to leave.

When it's pretty clear the polar bear's just showing off, though, she asks, "They don't have oceanhorses here, do they?"

Molly looks at her. "Oceanhorses? Oh! Seahorses! Hmmmm," she looked at the map. "No, it doesn't look like they have any fishy type things here. Mostly land animals."

She frowns at the map. "Meerkats?"

"Hmmm, no. Which is sad, meerkats are really cute. Let's see..." Molly looked at the map again, "zebras, rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, lions, giraffes - big ones, not miniature like Earl, elephants, chimpanzees... no meerkats though. Sorry, Aeryn."

"I know what an elephant is," she says, though some of the others sound familiar and she just can't remember what's what.

"Do you want to go see one?" Molly asked.

"I could see an elephant."

"Yay, elephants!" Molly said and showed Aeryn the map. "Okay, the elephants are way over here, so we'll get to go by all of these other animals on the way. If you want to know what any of them are, you can just ask me and we can stop and look. Otherwise, we'll just go right on to the elephants. Sound like a plan?"

"Good plan," she nods, and looks back at the polar bear in the water one more time before they start walkng anywhere else.

Molly led the way through the African section of the zoo and couldn't help but point to and name every animal they passed. She ran ahead a few times to get a longer look at one or two of them, but didn't linger long enough to slow their progress to the elephants.

As soon as Aeryn sees the elephant, her first words are, "That can't fit inside a classroom."

Molly giggled. "You're talking about when John got turned into one?"

"Yes. Granted, he probably didn't have to get inside a door, but that," she says, gesturing, "just isn't possible."

Molly giggled again. "Maybe she made him a miniature elephant or a baby one. I can't remember what the radio said exactly."

"Right," Aeryn says, after thinking a moment. "I think Rory sent me a picture of that one. I haven't looked at them in a while."

"When I saw her again the first thing she did was show me what he was while I was... Yes, it's nice of her," she says, and watches the elephant. "He had a trunk."

Molly giggled again. "I wish I could have seen it. That would have been so funny. Really cute too, if he was a baby elephant. They are adorable."

Aeryn's not the type to call anything adorable, so she passes that by and says, "Walk past that classroom while it's happening, I'm sure they wouldn't mind an audience." Not that she's even done anything more than sit in front of her E-mail waiting for Rory's picures to come through.

"Second period Tuesdays, and sometime Wednesday morning," she replies automatically, not even thinking about it.

Molly made no comment about Aeryn knowing John's schedule. "Hmmm, if it isn't first period on Wednesday, I could probably wander by then. I'll just have to be subtle about it."
