Boston, Massachusetts [Thursday evening]

As the sun went down, it was time for some evening fun. If you didn't have enough history during the day, now is your chance to make up for that! Tonight's offerings, much like the people of Fandom, are food-oriented, and there's at least one chance to make terrible decisions you might regret in the morning. Who wouldn't be at least a little curious?

Amaya was never one to say no to a good old pub crawl, and the historic nature of it just meant the bars would likely be more like taverns she was used to rather than too many clubs and the like.

Though, really, if there was ale, she wasn't about to complain!

Better yet if there were meats-on-sticks!

"Pretty sure one of these places is bound to have some sort of meat on a stick" Dwight said with a grin over the mug of beer he had finally at long last been able to secure. "I mean, most of these places have a decent selection so I am sure you are bound to find something. At least they have honest to goodness beer for a change."

Amaya lifted up her own honest to goodness beer in salute of that last statement, with a grin and a nod and a mighty swig. "A few of those food trucks looked promising," she allowed, "although, overall, I think this city could stand to find a bit less passion for historical costumes and bit more for meats-on-sticks. But, push comes to shove, I've got some skewers and I'll just make my own!"

She was a problem solver, after all, that Amaya Blackstone.

"Even be willing to share a few, if you're interested."

"Won't say no to that" Dwight said as he raised his own drink in a toast. "Though if I'm going to be doing a fair bit of drinking, I should probably eat too. Takes a lot to get to that point, but I learned very early beer needs food. Preferably messy greasy food at a place like this" he added as he checked to see what they had. "Can I get something for you too?"

"Well," said Amaya, shoulders straightening and looking quite pleased at the suggestion, "if you're offering, I don't think I could say no! A little food in the stomach can't be a bad thing to go with all this drink. Might be smart. Thought maybe one of us should keep in mind that there's a chance of having to drag the other back to the room by the end of this if it's done right."

And, with that, she seemed to be giving Dwight an assessment, with the confidence that, sure, compared to him, she might be small, but she was scrappy! She could probably handle him if she had to!

(It wouldn't be graceful, and it would involve a lot of cursing and potential plans for a more transportable Crumbler to keep on hand, but still!)

"Yes, food I think it a definite must" Dwight agreed, giving Amaya and quick assessment and a grin of his own. "Oh and look what they have here. Not sure you would be interested or not but...." he said feigning ignorance. "Looks like they have appetizers that include jumbo shrimp kebabs."

Was he being a little cruel with the teasing. Maybe, but Amaya didn't seem to mind and he knew she could dish it back just as well.

"Think we should get some of those and a refill on these drinks, whatcha say?"

"Jumbo?" Amaya quirked a skeptical brow, so strong it could be sensed even though it was technically hidden under her fringe of thick bangs. "I think I'll be the judge of that!"

And considering how literal quite a few things tended to be back where she was from, there were plenty of scoffs toward that claim ahead!

And, with that, she swiftly finished up the last of her drink so there would be the need for a refill and declared, "But an excellent plan! Fill 'er up, and bring on the skewered seafood!"

Soon enough there were fresh drinks and food on the table. Three different flavors of shrimp kabobs had been listed so Dwight had ordered some of each for them.

He fought back a chuckle as he watched the incredulous look on Amaya's face. "Well, they are jumbo by comparison to most... fresh shrimp is hard to come by outside these costal areas. Used to have them all the time when I was up in Maine. Curious to see how these compare to the ones we would get up there."

"You'll have to let me know," said Amaya, as she picked up a skewer and inspected the shrimp a little closer and shook her head. But still! They were on sticks, and they were delicious, so she wasn't really going to complain. "Over in places back home like, say, Tanalore, maybe parts of Serenia," she said, around that first bite, "these would be considered baby shrimp, some of them you'd see were about the size of a fist! And I've heard some of the pirates that'd fill the old tavern when I was a girl tell stories of some as big as your head, but, well, pirates, you know. They're pretty full up on their tall tales, and, besides, I'm not sure at that point, you even could call 'em shrimps anymore. Not technically."

"Shrimp that big would be considered living fossils around here" Dwight said. "Haven't had anything that big in this world at least for a few million years. But call them baby shrimp or jumbo shrimp, these are pretty good."

Dwight enjoyed the first few shrimp as he tried to listen to the tour guide talk. No, really, he did try. But yah know... food... drink.. and it was getting pretty noisy inside.

Now that was a thankless job if Amaya ever saw one, trying to actually lead a tour when everyone pretty much already had booze on the brain, but, well, so long as you got paid in the end...

"Hits the spot," she agreed, her approval of the food clear in having already finished off a skewer and washed it down with appreciative gusto. "That's for sure! You have not lead me...or my stomach...astray, Dwight."

"I do my best," Dwight said with a smirk as he grabbed a second skewer of his own. "Course I mean this area takes pride in its food and drink so not surprising really. They seem to have a handle on food and rink and keeping people satisfied" he added with a general wave around the place and gave a quick glance at all the Fandomites mingling with the 'normal' tourists who were also going on the pub crawl.
