Everyone arrives in a crisp, sunny Boston afternoon after an eventless Portalocity trip (which was why Anakin looked suspicious. That rarely happened) with all of their luggage intact.

(Except Anakin's. He'd notice in a minute.)

"Welcome to Boston," he yelled to the group. "Don't do stupid things: there are more chaperones than students and we will find out." Then he turned to the chaperones. "You cannot be stupid, either. I will find out. Come up and get your room cards, do not empty the mini bar immediately, and go exploring. We'll meet up again tomorrow morning."

We're spending the week at the five-star/five diamond Boston Harbor Hotel. Hotel luxuries include a private health-club style spa and fitness center, award-winning dining, and a full-service 34-slip marina. You know, in case you brought your spare yacht. Tony, did you bring a spare yacht?

Rooms 10/10

Students' deluxe rooms have windows out over downtown Boston, and their chaperones' premier rooms have views out over the marina and into Boston Harbor. The rooms come equipped with all the amenities and two full beds or one king depending on which is funnier.

"Spacious," the descriptions of the rooms had boasted.

Well! Let's let the nine-foot-tall shark man be the judge of that!

Sidon was not expecting to have an easy time of the accomidations on these trips, even less so now than when he was a (much) small student, but he wasn't exactly planning on spending too much time indoors in general, either, if it could be at all helped! Still, he felt it was important to get the lay of the land, as it were, to see just how comfortable he would be in the hotel room assigned to him in the first place, which meant, mostly, heading straight for the bathroom.

"Ah, wonderful!" he declared with clear approval. "An excellent," albeit a bit cramped!, "shower and a tub! Good to have options on these sorts of things!"

The room seemed lovely. The roommate was significantly less so.

"There must be some sort of mistake. Or some way to fix this."

"What do you mean you missed this dimension?" Anakin snapped into his comlink. "You got every other bag here."

His face turned stormier as he got the response. "You'll find it in the next month. Probably. Very helpful."

He opened the door with a sigh. "Looks like I'll be buying clothing in town."

Dwight stood in the doorway and stared. Ok these rooms were nice. Course when you've spent 4 years on military cots and sleeping on the ground and then nearly 8 years after that sleeping on a less that comfortable, slightly too small for you, sized bed, this level of luxury almost seemed excessive. Almost. Dropping his bag at the foot of one of the beds, he walked over and opened the curtains and looked out over the harbor and waited for his roommate to catch up.

"Yeet!"

Troy, upon opening the door to his assigned room, tossed his bag onto the nearest bed and then tossed himself onto it in the same way, letting out a deep sigh and then just sort of reveling in the moment of being in a nice room in a new city on his school's dime, which reminded him of the old days back when Riverside hit the road for football championships, except, you know, Fandom shelled out way more so that they weren't in just some low-budget hotel for a mere weekend, half of which was actually spent on the field or in some musty locker room.

And then he was just going to sigh again, enjoy it some more, and, in a little bit, he'd maybe get up and start roaming the halls to really get a look at the digs, but for now, this was nice, and maybe he could jam with his roommate a little or whatever else was just wandering around looking to join up with their fellow students and maybe get a head start on making all the grown-ups have to at least work a little for their swanky vacays.

Room 703

The room was bigger than any sleeping quarters Stark had ever been in and he was taking all it in, wide-eyed, as he walked in and looked around.

"See, just us," he said. "With a bed." A bed, a couch for good measure, a beautiful view, and a bathroom he would be thoroughly impressed by once he got that far. This was already so much better than the last trip.

Room 701

The portal hadn't been too bad, and now they were in Boston. At a hotel much nicer than any Jon had stayed in before. He put his toothbrush in the bathroom and his clothes in one of the drawers, then tucked his bag away neatly. He'd let Irene have first choice of beds, since he was unlikely to sleep much anyway.

Damn, though, no balcony. Which meant he'd have to go completely out of the building to smoke. Maybe he should try quitting again.

Room 721

It felt weird being on vacation but Walsh hadn’t given him any instructions on to return home so he figured there was no harm in signing up on the school trip. He had never been to Boston so he was actually looking forward to exploring somewhere that was different.

Yes he was still wearing his black Galaxy Rangers uniform, which was designed more for the climate of the Australian outback and if he was bothered by the colder weather he wasn’t showing it.

As much as Jo liked having a roommate, she was pretty thrilled that she’d gotten one of these rooms to herself.

She immediately took out her camera and took a couple of photos.

Room 713

"Huh," Liam said, surveying the room. "Pretty sure this is bigger than my first apartment."

His first apartment had been a back room off of a nightclub, so like... that wasn't hard to beat.

Room 208

Alara was pretty excited about this trip because it had meant that she'd had a legitimate reason to not be able to return home for the break, so she was going to be taking full advantage of the time away.

She didn't have much to unpack so she was looking forward to start going exploring.

Nell had never slept in a room this size - nor ever imagined having a place this big all to herself. It was amazing!

Food 10/10

Well, you definitely won't starve this week, even if you never leave the hotel. Rowes Wharf Sea Grille offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. Its afternoon tea is also extremely popular. You can also go for drinks and snacks at the Rowes Wharf Bar starting at 4pm. The bar is one of the 44 best hotel bars in the world, which is an extremely specific number. Or you can stay up in your room and order in.

Jo loved afternoon tea and it felt like she hadn’t had a proper one in ages so that was the first thing she decided to try.

In the bar

Jon wasn't really sure about going out into the town just yet, but the bar was quiet and dark, and the popcorn was good, so he was here eating that and drinking something called a Daisy, because...well, it had sounded good, and he missed Daisy.

Amenities 10/10

Whether its the 60-foot lap pool, the Pelaton bikes and yoga classes you're all dying to try out, or the spa, the hotel has your fitness needs covered. The gym is open 24 hours, which is very helpful for you insomniac health nuts. Steve.

EXCURSIONS

There will be organized fun tomorrow, but for tonight, go explore the town! Walk the dock and gawk at the yachts, or hire a guy to take you out on the water! Go to bars! Eat at restaurants! Go to the playground for grownups, the Lawn on D! There's plenty to do!

Northern Lights Sunset Cruise - 10/10.

Suuuuure, it was just the first night and everything and there was plenty of time to do stuff like this, but, especially since they were all actually rooming seperately for this trip (and how Gladio managed to get his own room was totally unfair, but Prompto wasn't complaining!), the Insomnia boys figured they could all ride....literally, in this case!...together that evening by hitting up one of the cruises, so they could enjoy the views, make plans for exploring a new city together throughout the week, maybe, and Prompto could already start getting in some sweet photography.

And also maybe use some of these boat icons on an actual boat!

All in all, there were far worse way to start a vacay than on a boat with some of your best buds, really!

Clare about burst into tears when she entered the tavern and heard a dozen voices that sounded like home. She'd be here with her fish and chips, listening to the live music.

She might be here all week.

Drink - 10/10.

Shunsui was a very simple man, really. The only bar that would have been more appealing to that simplicity than on simply named Drink would have likely been one named Beautiful Women. And since, if there was one named that, he missed it entirely, he was going to start his inevitable exploration of the Bostonian nightlife there, which would, inevitably, involve at least a few discussions regarding the unfortunately rare use of sake in a variety of popular cocktails.
