Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Feet Below Fandom, Tuesday
The second Tuesday in the hole saw the campfire big and bright. There were loads of marshmallows to toast, chocolate and graham crackers for those who wanted to full-on make s'mores (despite, you know, the lack of adequate bathing facilities down here), and even some hot dogs for those who wanted to eat something other than massive amounts of sugar after the quest to finish off all the ice cream at Chilly Boulder before it melted.
Now they just needed some crappy beer and an asshole with a guitar playing "Wonderwall" and it'd be a proper high school style rager. Or, you know, they could all just mope and/or brainstorm around the fire for a bit.

Re: New arrivals
Because, with the expected clatter, clamor and kerfuffle one might expect from a collection of pianos and guitars to make as a music store neatly landed almost a thousand feet blow the surface, Groovy Tunes had, in fact, arrived.
With a startled and shaken Troy scrambling to his feet to go look out the door and let put a miserable groan once he got an eyeful of what had actually just happened.
"My boss is going to kill me!"
Somehow, he had the feeling that 'the narrative made me do it!' was going to fly when Tisarwat got back and saw what happened when she left Troy responsible for the store for a few weeks...
Re: New arrivals
"You know, I think maybe they'll understand."
Re: New arrivals
"Do you think so?" he asked with uncertainty. "Because I was, like, supposed to be in charge. I think losing the store down a hole is a pretty fire-able offense..."
Why couldn't this have happened on the annoying vinyl hipster's day??
Re: New arrivals
What? Firefighters were totally authoritative enough to write people's bosses notes.
Re: New arrivals
Troy made a face, slightly wincing, when he lifted his hand as if to indicate the level of expensiveness in this girl's tastes, a level that he considered a moment before moving his hand up slightly higher, as if that first level wasn't enough, and then another shift in his expression as even that wasn't enough and he lifted his hand a little higher still.
"If you know what I mean."
This was, however, entirely based on one single sushi date that he had to dine and dash on because, apparently, market price basically just meant you can't afford it.
Re: New arrivals
Travis could have told him that, yeah.
He watched that hand get higher and higher, his eyebrows going right along with it. This kid was so young. And earnest! Had Travis ever been that young and earnest? (Yes. Yes he had.)
"Yeah, I've dated guys like that." He shook his head. "If your boss does end up firing you for falling in a hole, even with my note, you can come work at the fire station."
Re: New arrivals
But Troy's eyes sort of lit up at the prospect. "Really?" he asked. "That...might even be a better gig than the music shop! I mean, chicks really did firefighters, right? And, like, how many fires do we get around here anyway, really?
"My sheep farming class turned out to actually be about sheep farming, too," he added, as his mind was opening up to a whole new world of potential employment. "Maybe I could do something with that."
Because, you know, if there was one thing Fandom had even less of than fires, it was...sheep?
Re: New arrivals
"Does Fandom even have sheep?"
Travis did more than just firees at his job! And he occasionally got called out to do actual things!
Mostly he just really wanted someone else to field all the weird calls about gremlins. Or just to like. Talk to. Who wasn't a dog. Sorry, Probie.
Re: New arrivals
He shrugged. "I don't think so?" he admitted. "But when it does? I'll be ready for them."
Whatever that would mean. He didn't know that yet, they'd only had the one class and all they really did was smell things.
