Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine feet below Fandom, Thursday [NFB]

Well. Travis and Probie were no longer alone down here. Which was great in that it meant Travis didn't have to consider whether or not to start anthropomorphizing sporting equipment, but was less great in that it meant that the supplies in the toppled station now had to be divided up amongst four people and a dog.

Well, at least more people meant more ideas on how to get the hell out of here.

Oh, but sometimes being a sad lump took up multiple days. Maybe it could alternate with some 'there is no way out and we'll run out of food and water' panics?

"What do we need to do? To get it upright?"

See, Travis tended to swap between sad lump and aggressively throwing himself into activities to distract himself.

For instance:

"I've got the lever and fulcrum set up already." He nodded to the firepole wedged under the side of the truck and then propped against a rock. "I just couldn't get quite enough leverage to get it up by myself. I'm hoping some more weight will help."

Stark hadn't had a good full-on panic in quite some time. He was overdue.

"Oh. I could do that. Help with that."

At the very least he could add some weight to the lever.

"Yes! Thank you. Let's get a helmet on you and go tackle that truck!"

He sounded way too enthusiastic about manual labor that was likely doomed to fail.

Stark was going to look ridiculous in a fire hat. So at least he could provide a little entertainment as well?

"Just show me what you need done."

"We're gonna grab the far end of that pole there and pull it down. Which should hopefully push the truck up and tip it back onto its wheels."

He'd barely managed to budge the thing so far on his own.

"Right," Stark said, eyeing the pole. "That could work. It should."

Otherwise he'd be looking silly in a fire hat for nothing!

So . . . a lot like how Travis spent most of his time on the island anyway.

"Great. Helmets and gloves are there. I'll try to round up the blonde and the exploding kid."

But Travis looked quite dashing in his fire gear! Stark was just going to look silly with the helmet and the mask.

"The exploding...oh. Beaker. Is that wise?" No, it was not wise. Stark headed over to pick up a helmet anyway.

"It's a truck. We're going to need all the help we can get."

Beaker was made of felt! How much help could he be? He wouldn't even add weight!

"I suppose. Unless he explodes." Although if they could direct the explosion maybe it could flip the truck!

Maybe they could jam Beaker under it with the pole!

"Well . . . yeah. I guess there's that."

Desperate times and all that.

"He might not. He doesn't always." Why was this a conversation they could have?

"And if he does . . . there's not too much down here to burn."

There were maybe questions about air quality and ventilation, but -- well, hopefully he just wouldn't explode.

Most Muppet explosions were for comedic effect and didn't cause lasting harm! Of course, neither of them knew that.

"There is that," Stark agreed, settling a helmet on his head.

Maybe Beaker could be a makeshift rocket to crash through the ceiling and create an escape route?

That would be very muppety!

"I'll be right back. With . . . maybe a spare fire extinguisher."
