Since she'd heard about the festival, Astrid had been looking forward to strolling around and not only viewing and appreciating the ice sculptures and the usage of light to enhance them, but to also making her own sketches of them, to better remember them by.

Sure, she probably could have just taken pictures, but sketching them was much better, if you asked her.

Dine around Sapporo

Hokkaido, the island you are currently on, is famous for its own traditional cuisine that isn't quite what you might be used to from Japan right now. It is the birthplace of miso ramen, and home to many, many seafood dishes. Another star of Hokkaido cuisine: Jingisukan lamb barbecue. Why not try one of the best five Jingisukan restaurants in the city?

Nijo Ichiba

Sapporo's seafood market Nijo Ichiba is home to several fantastic sushi restaurants that serve the seafood about as fresh as you can get it. And grab an ice cream afterward - another Sapporo specialty.

If a place was known as a party district, Summer was preeeettttty sure she was pretty much obligated to go and tear it up there, and so she was definitely dedicating herself to doing just that, especially since it was, you know, the last night.

Was Amaya missing the thrill and convenience of having such a dedicated meat-on-stick place right inside the hotel they were staying? You bet she was! But that was fine, she figured with the variety of different things to discover around pretty much anywhere they went, she'd find something, and that proved to be her driving force as she took in a few more sights around the city.

But she really didn't have to go far...

...or even stick to just one place.

You really loved to see it.
