Osaka, Japan - Monday Afternoon - Evening

The skies above Osaka might have started to darken, the city itself was still alight with neon splendor. Why not grab a nice bowl of ramen, or catch a show? Or, hell - get on that massive ferris wheel?

Hotel

Welcome to the Waqoo Shitaderamachi, a traditional temple lodging open to the public. The owners have tried to make this a tranquil, quiet space for you all to relax - there are even Zen meditation lessons available by a priest from a nearby temple. Or perhaps you'd like to try some Buddhist cuisine?

Rooms

This is a temple lodging, so quarters are pretty sparse, with tatami floors and typical Japanese-style beds - some with twin beds, some with a double. Just the one or two beds, though. Not that is going to be a problem, since you're all two to a room. ... except for those guys. Enjoy your single room, guys!

Room 108

At the end of the night, feeling pretty good about getting some good mileage out of Osaka (including some of her old haunts when she lived here) and wanting to get a good rest before heading over to Tokyo tomorrow, Rosa went into the bathroom to brush her teeth and get ready for bed, all very normal, not even noteworthy, even, except for one thing.

"Um...Amaya?" she called out cautiously. "Why is their a lobster in our sink?"

"Oh, that's just Dave!" Amaya called back cheerfully from the bedroom. Because of course he had a name now. And that name was...Dave. "Don't mind him, I just figured he'd be a bit more comfortable in there. But if Lucille or Hannibal come around looking for him, you haven't seen him! Capice?"

As Rosa tried to decide how she could even respond to something like that, she looked down at the lobster in their bathroom sink and realized she may have made a horrible mistake with this whole room situation.

"You know what?" she decided. "I'm fine with pretending that I haven't seen him at all no matter who asks."

Restaurant

Not a traditional restaurant per se, the Waqoo Shitaderamachi offers traditional Buddhist cuisine made by Buddhist principles. If you don't like it, well, there's always the children's menu, where they dump a bunch of extra stuff on your food so you can pretend it's steak or something.

Sitting Meditation

Take a meditation cushion and let the local priest guide you through a zazen lesson in one of the multifunctional halls in the building.

Lana was always interested in different forms of meditation. This one seemed more Jedi than Sith, so it wasn't exactly her forte, but it was relaxing.

The flashy food-and-drink-focused neighborhood of Dotonbori is still there for you! Now that you've found your feet and gotten over your portal lag, why not try some of Osaka's best ramen restaurants?

All the bright lights and flashing signs seemed close to images Lana had seen of Nar Shaddaa; it was very different from the hotel. Probably smelled less like Hutt, too.

She couldn't read most of the signs, so she followed her nose to a restaurant that smelled good and ordered mostly by pointing, though the staff at least spoke more Basic than she did Japanese.

National Bunraku Theatre

Maybe you want a show after your dinner? This national theatre is dedicated to the art of bunraku, a traditional Japanese brand of puppet theater that tells classic tales of Japanese history.

Lucille didn't know what the puppet play was about, but the puppets were pretty. A little bit ghostlike perhaps? She was going to try to take a photo of one to send to Tisarwat.

Tempozan Ferris Wheel

Want to enjoy the view from up high, but don't want to scale another building? The ferris wheel is definitely a dramatic way to see the sights.

Having only one night left in the city turned out to be a good excuse to get out and see more of it. Rey kept watching the Ferris wheel, but it wasn't until they got closer that she said, "That looks interesting."
