With the altitude--Quito is 9,350 (2,850) feet in the air--the morning dawned clear, crisp and cool. We'd recommend packing a sweatshirt for the city bus tour, which will leave at 9 in the morning. You have plenty of time to grab breakfast and a trip to the gym before then.

After having checked in with the staff to ask about the preparation of the food and feeling very grateful that she'd made herself a cup of tea from her flask in her room while getting ready (she was, of course, still having another, but, considering the quality, it would have been completely unacceptable as her first and only tea for the morning), Tisarwat took a seat to have some breakfast, consisting entirely of whatever was available that needed utensils to eat.
