We arrive back in Reykjavík and lovely Hotel Thingholt in time for dinner.

And you never have to get back in the minibuses again. We promise! Make sure to thank your guides, than either head up to your rooms, over to the spa, or out into town for nightlife ala Iceland. It's our last evening here, so don't have so much fun that you don't look up at sky for our last glimpse of the Northern Lights for a while.

Still spectacular, huh?

Pub Crawl starting at Kaffibarinn

As must as Rosa actually had been enjoying the tour around Iceland (that kid going over the waterfalls in a barrel would never not be hilarious), this was a little more her speed. And usually, in a new..."city" (sure, she'll be generous) in a different country, she'd usually hit the town and pick up a random local or two, usually under a fake name, and go from there. But that would just be pretty weird and awkward right now, and she still needed to get out and enjoy it before heading back.

So she did something she didn't think she'd probably ever do and sent out a text to all her fellow teacher on the trip in a vague attempt to get something going:

Pub Crawl. We'll start at Kaffbarinn, see where it goes from there. Let's get the most out of this last night.

There. Rosa, already there at the bar working on her first drink, sent the text and shook her head. Who even were you anymore, Diaz? Someone waiting to see if anyone took her up on it, apparently, and, if not, well...she'd be enjoying some drinks anyway.

Miguel, of course, was here. Getting a drink and toasting Rosa with it. "What, no waterfall in the bar?"

They were everywhere here.

"I was hoping for more reindeer, myself," said Rosa, nodding her head as she toasted back with her own beer, completely believing this would totally be the kind of place where a reindeer would just waltz into a bar, and half wondering if the main reason Tightpants showed up was because he knew she'd give him crap when she got back if he didn't. Not that she'd complain. "Night's still young, though. At least one of these places has to have a waterfall."

And now she was going to be disappointed if there wasn't. Thanks.

"Were you hoping to fish another student out of one or something?"

"If they let a student in here, I'm siccing the cop on them," Miguel said with a grin. "In other words, I'm hiding behind you."

"Nope," Rosa nixed that idea with a definitive shake of her head. "I'm off duty and this is not even close to my jurisdiction. You're on your own.

"Shouldn't have to worry, though, at least not here for purely narrative purposes. They're pretty good. You missed Baby Linetti," Rosa, he didn't know who that was, "having some trouble because she thought the drinking age was eighteen."

And she really shouldn't be so damn amused by that, either.

"Yeah," Rosa explained, "she's my neighbor. Kid who used to go to school here and somehow that qualifies her to now teach? Always glued to her phone, owns the general store."

Apparently, Rosa could be bothered to remember everything about Baby Linetti except her name.

"Has one of those names that you'd expect her have, because she, like, so totally would be named that."

The scariest thing about Rosa's Baby Linetti voice just then was just how good it actually was.

Fridays were Amaya's drinking nights and Diaz was a friend, so she figured it might not be a bad way to spend the evening at all. She was there at the first stop, grabbing a beer by recommendation, and taking a second to scope out the place and doing a rather unintentional Caritas comparison.

Funny how you wound up just getting used to some things.

And when she found Diaz, she greeted her with a, "Before we get too far into this, I'm laying down one rule. You can only ask me about that axe once per bar."

"Who sent that axe, Blackstone?" demanded Rosa, but she was grinning, because how could she have greeted her any other way now? She shook her head, then, narrowing her eyes. "Just you wait, though. Maybe tonight's the night we see just how much booze it takes to get a smith to spill her secrets."

"There's not enough booze in this whole country," Amaya informed her, loftily lifting her chin, tossing her hair behind her shoulders. "These lips are sealed tighter than a dwarven king's vault."

"Gross," said Rosa. "And that's a challenge if I've ever heard one. Drink up, Blackstone. Your next one," and several more after now, "is on me."

"Beaker," Anakin said, making a face. "Also, I need more vodka. Possibly all the vodka."

"Beaker," Miguel agreed. He signaled the bartender. "I have no idea how that kid's still alive. He must have more of a healing factor than Sabretooth and more luck than Longshot."

"If you give me vodka, I'll pretend I know who those people and or animals are," Anakin told him.

"Vodka," Miguel ordered, holding up two fingers.

"Teammates," he told Anakin. "One heals even faster than me, one's got supernatural luck. Pretty sure Beaker's got them both beat. Of course, he's also got less survival instinct than a lemming."

"Same," Miguel said. "And I work with superheroes. On the other hand, he is somehow still alive."

"I don't know if there's enough vodka in the whole country," Rosa offered, because that was going to be the theme now, apparently. "Is this the part where I point out that, if the indestructible kid going over a waterfall or two in a barrel is the worst thing that happened on this trip, then we really kind of got off easy?"

"Or a stole a reindeer or hi-jacked a bus or painted up one of the hotels," Rosa offered, and smile the sort of smile that would have gone along with a pat on the shoulder if it weren't for the fact that Rosa barely knew him. "But the night's still young."

Sweet Dee did not get to be on the crawling side of a pub crawl nearly enough, and she wouldn't need even half of that as a reason to get out and hit the bars. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that she'd make an appearance and figured she'd drink all these bones right under the table

And Sweet Dee gave a faintly awkward wave back, kind of disappointed that she couldn't at least shake the guy for this, too. Because it was awkward. It had been awkward presumably . And it was still kind of awkward.

Especially when she maybe gagged a little before answering.

"Roomie," she offered back, clearing her throat with a swig of beer.
