Lake Hotel Egilsstadir, Iceland

If you slept the rest of the way to the hotel after that hike, we don't blame you at all. We rest for the night at a country hotel close to Lake Lagarfljot (Lagarfljót). Supposedly the giant worm, Lagarfljotsormur, resides in the depths of the lake: Iceland’s version of the Loch Ness Monster. Maybe the northern lights will dance for us again tonight? On this tour our search for them never ends!

We're staying at Lake Hotel Egilsstadir, which has charming rooms--modern styled ones for the students, and antique-style for the teachers--and a renowned restaurant, noted for its innovative use of local ingredients. The town itself is mostly other hotels and guesthouses, but you can go for a wander and find a couple of different bistros, and some grocery stores if you need to stock up on bus snacks.

Steve gave him a fond look just as Lexi let out a huge burp and spit up all over Steve's shirt.

And that's when the food arrived, of course.

"Sit tight!" Tony didn't have a fix for the shirt thing, but he could at least get dinner.

Lexi started fussing again so Steve sighed and gave her the bottle again. "Don't know what I did wrong, little girl."

"I got them to grab towels for us," Tony said, setting their meals down and offering one to Steve.

"Appreciate it," Steve said, giving Tony puppy eyes and opening his mouth hopefully for a bite.

Tony rolled his eyes, but indulged him with a bite of steak. He was so damn lucky he was cute.

Lexi was dozing off, bottle hanging loosely from her mouth.

"She's like a cat," Tony said with a sigh. Look, he didn't know kid stuff. He knew cat stuff via Carol.

"A cute cat," Steve said, shifting her a bit to see how asleep she was.

Tony sighed, taking a bite himself before giving Steve another. "At least you can't eat everything in an instant this way."
