Reykjavík into Southern Iceland, Monday, February 18, 2019 [Daytime]

It's colder today--a high of only 32 F (0 C) is expected, but it's sunny and bright--perfect for taking pictures of beautiful national parks, stunning waterfalls, and impressive geysers. Which is good because that's what we're seeing today! Everyone grab some breakfast and get on your minibuses--it's time to explore Iceland!

If anybody needed Norman for... basically the entire trip, he'd be the kid with a stack of comic books, ignoring the scenery going by in favor of reading some gory thing about zombie vikings. Because it seemed appropriate for this trip, okay?

He kind of wanted to see what kind of ghost and zombie lore they had around here (without just cheating and flat-out asking a local ghost), but the ghost museum was in Stokkseyri. So, closer to the coastline than they were headed, anyway.

"You're not going to look at the scenery?" Lana asked.

She found it interesting, if extremely slow going in these ancient vehicles.

Norman glanced at Lana, and then glanced out the window.

"It's okay?"

It was not zombie vikings, Lana.

"Nothing new for you, then?" Lana asked.

Norman shrugged a little bit.

"I mean, it's all new," he admitted. "It's just... out there."

He was perfectly happy to take in the whatever when they got where they were going, but road trips weren't his favorite. Too many years as the little brother and the family freak made it much easier to keep his head down.

"And you wouldn't rather see the new things now and read the books later?" Lana shook her head, though she made a point to smile. "You're one of those 'hole up in the library' types of scholars, aren't you?"
