Villa Phoenix is ready for your very first full day of exploration! It's a little sleepy as you get up, but you're sleepy, too, so that works out.

This large apartment complex holds many a 2-3 person, one bedroom studio. Each studio is 280 square feet, a neat bathroom, a small living room with a couch and a nice sitting area outside. There's also a small kitchenette, to make up for the lack of a restaurant next door.

The bedroom holds two single beds or a double ~~depending on what's funniest~~.

There isn't a great deal to do per se, on-site. But the area is beautiful, all hills and olive trees, and the space around the hotel itself might make for a relaxing walk.

Or you could gather up in the common area, sit down on the pillows on the floor, grab a seat at a table. Read something from the hotel's small collection of books or watch television - it's up to you.

A narrow street cuts between the restaurants on one side and the marina on the other. The restaurant-side is littered with small tavernas, all offering traditional Greek food in different styles. Are you in the mood for moussaka or mixed grill? Pick a restaurant, have some food.

Or steal into one of the small supermarkets if you'd rather stock up to eat in your apartment.

There are many booths offering turtle and dolphin sight-seeing tours, as well as tours of the nearby caves. You can also negotiate for extremely fresh fish from the fisherman coming in with their hauls throughout the day. And then you have a fresh fish, so good luck with that.

Local hotels and restaurants sell seats and parasols all along this beach. It looks a little rough, at first: there are rocks all along the waterline. But cross the one foot's worth of pebbles and stones and you'll suddenly find nothing but sand and shallow water for a long stretch. In fact, you'd have to walk almost a hundred feet to find water that came any higher than your hips. Grab a spot, a parasol and a snack!

There was no way in hell Fjord was going to be anywhere near a marina and not taking the time to explore the marina.

Sure, he did so by slapping up an illusion to look like a human take on himself in rather more modern clothing, but even with that he was in his element, grinning outright as he explored the bustle of people interacting with the sea.

And yes, he would absolutely be negotiating for one of those fish. A sailor background and charisma coming out his ears meant he'd be getting an excellent deal on it, too.

Vette hadn't come all this way just to be cooped up inside. Sure, she still hadn't quite worked up the nerve to go exploring out beyond the grounds of the villa, but the weather here was beautiful and the clouds were hardly a deterrent to anybody who had spent any amount of time living on Nar Shaddaa.

She would have to actually go exploring to see if she could find food at some point, but for now she was content to just lay herself down under the shade of one of the trees, looking up at the clouds.

And 'lo, there was her usual roomie dropping down beside her.

"Veeeeeette," she greeted, "do you know why paper, like, beats rock???????"

"Because rock beats scissors and scissors beats paper, so that's all that's left," Vette suggested. And then paused to grin over at Nina. "If you want an answer that's better than that, you'll probably have to ask somebody from Earth. We don't even really use paper back home. It's been mostly replaced by holotechnology."

She paused.

"Unless paper is better than rock because at least it's more sensible than carving messages in stone?"

No, Vette, that wasn't it.

Nina brightened.

"That could be it!!!!!!" It wasn't, but hey, it made sense. "I'll have to write that down and see what Sidon thinks of that answer later!!!!"

She grinned back at Vette.

"We're on a quest, you see?????"

It was a very silly quest, but it was fun.

"You and Sidon are on a rock-paper-scissors quest?" Vette laughed a little at that. "Okay, that just sounds like fun. What brought that on?"

"We're on a quest to find out why paper beats rock in rock-paper-scissors," Nina corrected, laughing. "He, like, asked how we decide who gets to wear what when we both want to wear the same thing?????? So I told him how we decide, but then he wanted to know why each thing beats the other and while scissors beating paper and rock beating scissors is easy, I have totally no clue why paper beats rock?????? So we're on a quest to figure it out!!!!!!!!"

Nina laid her head back in the grass.

"And, like, he was totally bummed out from the weekend, so I thought something for him to do would be good????????"

Vette nodded along. Hey, it seemed like something good to pass the time, at least until Greece offered up something fun for people who weren't quite human standard to do without worrying about fitting in.

And then... she paused. And frowned a little.

"Bummed out from the weekend? What happened this weekend, anyway? I just noticed that there were more visitors again, so I mostly just stuck to the room."

Because once again, nope on the being stared and poked at, thanks.

Nina shot up to stare at Vette, her eyes wide.

"Oh my gosh!!!! You don't know?????" That was terrible. Like, genuinely terrible, not even just Nina being hyperbolic. She leaned closer to Vette, dropping her voice. "Like, this weekend, people who'd died were back for a visit. Just some of them, but Sidon, like, it was his sister??????? And he had to say goodbye to her all over again??????"

Amaya had... not been kidding about being a terrible roommate, though he'd found her waking presence to be congenial enough. They were a little awkward but, of course, that was common when two strangers were left to room with one another.

No, it was the snoring that made her such a terrible roommate, for he hadn't had a single wink of sleep once she'd taken to her bed.

Carter located both a seat and a parasol and forewent the snack in order to enjoy the peace of the beach.

And, alright, in short order he was likely to be sleeping. Shhhhh.

It was a little difficult for Astrid to decide on exactly where she wanted to plant herself today to start filling up her sketchbook, but she figured she should take a cue from the weather and spend most of it enjoying the mostly-clear sky and the water at the beach. As if she had a choice in the matter, anyway. Her heart belonged to the sea, and talking with Rufus about it yesterday only made the longing that much stronger.

She was going to forsake the variety of chairs under shading parasols for now, though; she needed to sit closer to the shore, abandoning her boots as she tip-toed over the pebbles to find a spot to sit and get to work.

Well, not as much work as usual, actually; she spent probably twice as much time just gazing out over the water, knees hugged tight against her, letting her thoughts stretch idly over the horizon for hours.

Like Nina had figured, she... really didn't have the money to do nothing but eat at the restaurants the whole week.

So once she left the grounds, she headed for a supermarket first thing. She'd be there awhile, pricing out food and trying to figure out if she should, like, also buy for Lana. It seemed like the roomie thing to do, but Lana had also mentioned having at least some money, so she wasn't sure...

Well, she'd figure it out--oh! And she also had to make sure that she had extra anyway, some for Vette and for Nell...

And now... Vette was chewing on her lip, her heart breaking a little bit for Sidon.

"Oh," she said softly. "I... I didn't realize."

Damn it. The whole situation sounded so impossible, but even if it had been some kind of trick, that was outright cruel. Vette's own family was probably still alive out there somewhere, but if the island had given her mother to her, or Tivva, only to take either of them away after a weekend...

"I like that island a little less every day," she admitted, shaking her head. "Should I check up on him?"

Fjord had intended to find Carter much sooner, to apologize for missing last week's class, but the pastor wasn't an easy individual to contact unless one felt like making one's way to the church.

And so when he noticed him sitting here in one of the beach chairs, he paused a moment, and then picked his way across the pebbles to go speak to him. Hopefully the fact that he was in disguise, looking like a far more human, far more modern-dressed version of himself, was something that the pastor could overlook, given... everything.

The man looked exhausted. Fjord would try to keep it quick.

"Pastor," he said, keeping his tone friendly, even approaching jovial as he stepped up nearby. "I believe I owe you an apology for last week's class."

And how he hadn't been there at all.

"It's cruel isn't it??????"

Nina... Nina still wasn't sure how to feel about her own family not showing up. Like, was it because she couldn't remember them at all? Or did they just not care, in whatever afterlife they were in?

"I mean, like, I think he'd appreciate it???" she said, looking pensive. "But he didn't seem to want to talk about it either???? So maybe just keeping him company would be the best thing???"

Vette nodded a little bit.

"I can do that," she decided, giving Nina a small smile. "We don't have to talk about anything he doesn't want to. I can tell him stories from home, maybe I can come up with a really good one for him this week."

"You're the best, Vette!!!!" Nina looked relieved. "Between us, we'll at least give him something else to think about and, like, that can't fix what happened both this weekend and whatever happened to his sister but... at least he'll know he's got friends who care about him!!!!!"
