There are four huts (well, huts that sleep eight and have saunas, living rooms, and fireplaces, so your definition of hut may vary), and everyone is paired up for sleeping (in rooms with either a double bed or bunk beds ~~depending on which is funnier to you~~, with shared living space for the eight of you to mingle, roast marshmallows, throwing raging parties involving schnapps, etc.

The restaurant offers both a weekly special menu (this week featuring venison and mushrooms) or an ala carte menu of traditional Austrian favorites, including noodles, schnitzels, roasted pork, and gulash soup. Make sure to save room for homemade apple strudel, too!

In addition to it serving food, the restaurant also has a cozy fireplace and a fully stocked bar, so you are more than welcome to stay a while and chat with the rest of the Fandomites.

Enjoy the nightlife and different restaurant choices of Innsbruck. You can still get schnitzel, though, if you've developed a hankering for it.

"I guess you find the same type of people everywhere," Aloy sighed, watching a bunch of drunken Dutch people stagger out of a bar. "Strike that one off my wishlist."

"You wished for non-tonedeaf people?" Paris guessed.

Small talk was for other people, apparently.

"Who are also less drunk."

Nobody needed tact. Literally nobody.

"Yeah, we're definitely in the wrong part of town for that," Paris said, staring judgmentally at the crowd. "How is that even fun?"

"Maybe they're trying to repeat the experience of getting dropped on the head as a child?" Aloy said. "I have no idea."

"Should we ask them?" Paris said just before yelling, "Hey! Can it! No one wants to hear your stupid music!"

Paris was a joy to travel with.

What? Aloy didn't see anything wrong with her doing that.

Even if all it got them was one guy throwing them the finger.

"Forget it, they're a lost cause," Aloy said. "Unless we want to smack 'em, but that seems like more trouble than it's worth."

"Personally, I'm more adept at verbal abuse," Paris said.

"So next time I'll handle any punching," Aloy said. "Got it."

Oh god.

This was the very worst idea.

"This will work out well," Paris declared, nodding her head. "So, should we find something not involving public displays of stupidity to try?"

"I don't know. Is there anything worth doing around here?" Aloy asked.

"The museum wasn't a complete waste of time this afternoon," Paris offered, "but that's not exactly nighttime fun."

"And I guess there's nothing to hunt around here," Aloy said. "And hiking in the dark is a great way to get hurt."

"I'm not much of a hunter," Paris said. "At all. Maybe there's a place to get dessert and hot chocolate?"

Aloy considered it. "I could do that," she said finally. "Try this chocolate everybody keeps telling me about."

"You haven't tried chocolate yet?" Paris said, eyebrows skyrocketing. "Come on," she said, marching towards the nearest coffee house. "This'll change your life."

"It hasn't really come up," Aloy said. But Paris seemed like a decent person - ahem - so she was going to along with this.

"If hot chocolate hasn't come up until now, you need better friends," Paris declared.

"I haven't made a lot of them so far, if that helps," Aloy said.

Mainly because she kept to herself. So far, people here had otherwise reacted positively to 'antisocial and doesn't listen to anyone'.

"Me either," Paris admitted, stepping into the warm coffee house. "I'm a strong personality."

"What does that even mean?" Aloy wondered.

"It means most people don't like me," Paris stated baldly.

"If it's any consolation, most people don't like me either," Aloy offered. "Of course, that's because the Nora believe all outcasts should be shunned, but it's kind of the same thing?"

"I don't need people to like me," Paris blustered. "Why are you an outcast, anyway?"

"I don't know," Aloy said, shrugging like it didn't bother her. "I've been one since I was born. Motherless, they say."

"Well, that's some bullshit," Paris declared. "It's not like you had a say in where or how you were born."

"That doesn't stop the matriarchs," said Aloy.

Not at all bitterly.

Really.

"Matriarchs are the worst," Paris declared, making a face. "The absolutely worst gossips during my parents' divorce were the ladies in the school parking lot. Harpies, every last one of them."

"See, mine just kicked me out as a baby and told everyone not to talk to me or the Goddess would get them," Aloy said, snorting.

"They said basically the same thing, only it was couched in terms like 'no one to sit with you at the Club' and 'no space at the Hamptons'," Paris said, nodding. "Who took you in as a baby or did you just evolve amazing hunting and gathering skills immediately?"

"One of the matriarchs gave me to Rost, my mentor. He's another outcast," Aloy said. "Funnily, he doesn't want to tell me why either."

Paris rolled her eyes. "Probably sneezed at the wrong time or something. Your matriarchs sound insane."

"I'm beginning to wonder," Aloy agreed, shaking her head. "Whatever. Let's try your chocolate thing."

"This is the good stuff," Paris assured her, ordering two drinks. "Don't ever let someone back at school tell you that the dried packet with freeze-dried marshmallows that you add to boiling water is hot chocolate. That is nasty."

"Okay, so no dried chocolate packets, check," Aloy said, with the amusement of someone to whom all of this was science fiction. "Anything else I need to keep in mind?"

"Not that I can think of," Paris mused. "I prefer it with lots of whipped cream, personally."

Y'all hear 'Austria' and think 'fancy European vacation'. I think 'stuck on a school bus going up the mountain in the dark, blasting the Gorillaz in a desperate attempt to block out the sound of the teachers alternating between playing 'Best of Apres Ski 1999' and the entirety of 'Bat out of Hell' by venerated American artist Meat Loaf over and over again across the bus stereo'.

Meat Loaf is the sound of road trips. I don't make the rules. *nods*
