The sun rose over a beautifully crisp, clear day that was just perfect for skiing, sledding, and hiking. It was also a perfect day for sleeping in, which was a good thing, because mandatory fun skiing lessons would begin bright and early for everyone tomorrow morning!

Rise and shine, Fandom. The hills are alive, etc.!

Your Huts [10/8] Day

There are four huts (well, huts that sleep eight and have saunas, living rooms, and fireplaces, so your definition of hut may vary), and everyone is paired up for sleeping (in rooms with either a double bed or bunk beds depending on which is funnier to you, with shared living space for the eight of you to mingle, roast marshmallows, sleeping off your raging hangovers after your schnapps-fed parties, etc.

Rost had vanished over the last weekend - somehow, he'd managed to find his way home. Now, a week later, Aloy still wasn't sure what to make of it. Was there a trick he'd used? No, it was Rost: he would've shared it if he knew.

She sighed, staring up at the ceiling from her bunk bed. "Everything about this place is way too convenient."

Summer, being lazy and tapping away at her phone in the bunk below, thought about not saying anything, because, really, was it any of her business? But she didn't know Aloy very well, and the urge to be more social and friendly and curious won out over the desire to not butt in.

"Convenient how?" she asked. Not because she disagreed (she totally agreed), but just to make conversation...or something.

You can eat in the small kitchen in your hut, but isn't it more fun to do it with other people? Enjoy breakfast, Austrian style! Would you like rolls and jam, bread and ham, or bread and Nutella? Maybe some of each! And coffee. So much coffee.

But she wasn't just flooding her Instagram with filter photos of her food; she was also sending very important texts about it.

Sidon had found the snow shoes to be absolutely fascinating, of course, and, after being fitted with some slightly less conspicuous snowgear than his fluffy pink coat, was eager to tackle the challenge of getting bigger fake webbed feet attached to his smaller real webbed feet and trudging through the snow, completely oblivious to any askance looks the giant sharkman laughing as he kicked up snow as if it was the most incredible thing in the world that he might be getting.

And at least one person asked where he got that really sweet hat, too!

Lessons don't start until tomorrow, but if you're already a skier, you're welcome to head out today--the lodge provides transportation to the nearest ski lifts, and there are a variety of ski runs for beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers in the Fuegen area.
