The Great House is the hub of all things Necker Island. Not only does it contain many gorgeous open bedrooms, outfitted with enormous terraces, but the house's perch on the island's highest points also grants it some incredibly scenic lounging possibilities. In fact, up on the roof, you'll find a jacuzzi big enough for four at a time.

Don't fight over it.

Every private room has a double or twin beds, depending on ~~what's suitable and/or funny~~ which one you're assigned. Every room comes with a private en-suite bathroom and a beautiful view of the beach on either side of the island.

The Great House has a spacious dining room, where you'll find an extensive tropical breakfast in the morning. There's seating area outside as well, and the woman behind the bar will make you any number of cocktails if you ask nicely.

The Great House comes with a wrap-around terrace that supports hammocks and cosy sofas. There are board games and even chess sets available - and a fully-stocked bar.

In the center of the Great House, you'll find the deck, which provides a stunning scenic view of the surrounding area, more seating, a pool table and a piano. Also, champagne. And a lot of it.

And if you take the stairs up, you'll find a four-person jacuzzi. Nice!

Just outside the house sits an enormous infinity pool. It's not quite as stunning a sight as some of the other pools on the island, but on the other hand-- it's an infinity pool, right by your house.

"It's Friday and I still haven't left the pool," Atton said to himself, stretching his legs on the nearby lounge chair. "Still feeling good about my choices."

There are several other houses on the island, many of which offer different kinds of facilities for those looking for a thrill.

The Beach House is the second-biggest place on the island. It rests between the island's two tennis courts and provides lunch as well as a bar and game tables... and the most impressive pool of them all.

Like most places on Necker Island, the Beach House comes with an extensive seating area. There are sofas outside on the tennis- and swimming pool sides, but you can also opt to drop yourself on the large couches upstairs, which provide a more panoramic view - and game tables.

Technically, there are two tennis courts right outside the Beach House. Grab a racket, a ball and a friend, and play a game. If you dare do that in the glaring Caribbean sun, anyway.

Beach House supports what has to be the island's most impressive pool, a sprawling freeform infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Nearby is a nice thatched house with chairs to sit at, if that's more your jam.

Are you hungry? You don't even need to leave the pool! There's a special sushi kayak that takes off into the pool every now and again, providing a wide selection of sushi rolls both vegetarian and not.

Nathan was almost - almost - regretting having spent most of his vacation enjoying the fact that he'd been assigned to the suite. But it was a suite with a hot tub, and really, he'd have to put effort into regretting that.

The discovery of the sushi kayak, however, was still a pleasant surprise. He was mostly contenting himself to just soak in the outdoors, but if food just so happened to float by...

"Isn't this how people get cramps?"

Not that that stopped him, though.

"I mean... worth it, though," Kitty said helpfully, eying the kayak to see when it might come back her way.

"Worth it," Nathan agreed, helping himself to a few more salmon rolls before the kayak could head off again. "I'm not much of a swimmer anyway."

Just kind of loitering around the shallow end eating sushi was good enough for him.

"And I'm not a fan of people drowning so you're fine as long as I'm here," she assured him.

"That's actually kind of reassuring," Nathan chuckled, giving her a little smile. "I appreciate that."

If he somehow started to drown in chest-deep water, it was good to know that there would be rescue incoming.

"I don't know that we've met yet," he added, pleasantly. "Nathan Algren. Teaching American history."

"Kitty Pryde-Barton. I teach Adulting," she said. "I say, completely seriously while eating sushi in a swimming pool."

"It's a very adult thing to do," Nathan decided, ever so amicably. "Being an adult myself, I can absolutely confirm that."

But let's be real, Nathan hadn't always been what most people would consider a functional human being, never mind adult.

"Thank you for the validation," she smiled. "You one of the newer teachers?"

"Yes and no," Nathan replied, shrugging as he navigated his chopsticks around his plate with ease. "I came back to the island after some time away, but I've been a teacher on Fandom Island before."

He sounded faintly exasperated. Coming back hadn't actually been something he'd intended to do.

"Not a fan?" she asked.

Nathan gave his shoulders a shrug.

"Well, they did give me the big room with the hot tub for this trip, so I'm willing to be a little more forgiving. But my return to the island was entirely unintentional. And made while barefoot."

Kitty had not yet taken advantage of the floating sushi and that just wasn't right. So this morning would be spent picking things she hadn't tried and well, trying them.

She was also wondering if there was like a ton of loose rice in the pool somewhere.

And finally, Beach House supports a 30-seat jacuzzi right outside the pool, in case all the other luxury wasn't great enough.

Ahsoka, blissfully unaware of any entitled llamas, was relaxing in the jacuzzi, lekku floating in the water.

Temple House is a large, round, Balinese-style house further along on the island. It's got a lounging area with an enormous library - and of course another infinity pool outside.

Sandy Turtle Beach sits right outside the Beach House, fringed by palm trees and offering hammocks to hang out in. There's a table set up for lunch dining if you're in the mood, an aqua-trampoline anchored in the bay and kayaks and-- oh, right, there's also the ocean.

Bored of lounging already? You can always take the zipline down from the Great House to the beach.

Sparkle was never going to get bored of lounging. Never. He staked out a hammock for himself today, and even came prepared, grabbing lunch for himself to bring with him while he relaxed.

God, he needed this. He needed this so bad. Did they have to go back to the island? Ever?

"Naaah," he muttered to himself, grinning a little and quite content to indulge that fantasy at least until that afternoon. "Here's good."

Today's Main Beach adventure is all about sailing! Get your own boat, share one with an instructor, or pile onto one of the larger sailing boats along with some classmates and a guide. To your west, there's Prickly Pear Island - you remember what it's like. To your east, there's nothing but the open ocean, ready to be explored.

Isabela had mostly been spending the week in a hammock with various rum-based cocktails, but ~~she liked big boats, she couldn't lie~~ there was sailing, so of course she was out on the water.

With a very easy on the eyes instructor.

... Or get into a nice, safe tube tire and let the island's staff tug you across the water at great speed. C'mon! It's fun!
