Re: Beaches
She wasn't above egging him on, no.
RE: Re: Beaches
The mark on his back began to glow. For a moment, it was the familiar shape of Rebellion that coalesced into being; then it twisted, became heavy and red, the intricate artful swirls that decorated the blade almost too delicate for an axe that deadly.
Dante reached back and plucked it off his back. Arbiter was heavy in his hands, but familiar.
Re: Beaches
"You an' your big weapons," she said, shaking her head. "'S that...what were th' names? Arbiter or Osiris?"

And then, because he had bad impulse control, he slammed the axe down, flooding it with some of his energy. It kicked up sand everywhere-- and then a red, spectral version of the axe shot forward, causing more sand to explode forward, like a destructive pebble gone skipping across the beach.
Re: Beaches
Impulse control? What impulse control?
Re: Beaches
Five seconds later, water everywhere.
Re: Beaches
"'M savior, protectin' me from the ocean!" she cheered. She'd get up once the spray died down and toss any confused jellyfish or other sea-creatures back in the water, but but at the moment she was too busy laughing.
Re: Beaches
He spared Osiris a thought for just a second, and that was all the blade in his hands needed-- growing long and thin, ending in a beautiful - and sharp - arc, humming a heavenly blue-white. "--And this is Osiris."

It twirled just as well when he used it vertically. Kind of like a crazy mower, in a way, or an automatic cutting board.
The scythe halted abruptly, with a chime; as it hummed with accumulated power, Dante put it down in the sand.
Re: Beaches
Re: Beaches
He let his focus slip away from the scythe, and it realigned itself back into Rebellion. "A few extra pounds of mayhem."

That wasn't entirely true: Ada'd been practicing a lot with the knives Isabela had given her. She just...images of the Brood impaling her flashed through her brain, and one hand absently brushed over that part of her abdomen and its baby-scales. She was leagues better than she had been, but there was always going to be the fear of not being good enough compared to all her other friends.
She blinked and shook her head. "B'sides--" Ada flashed him an impish grin. "Who says watchin' you work up a sweat ain't fun?"
Re: Beaches
He kneeled down beside her in the sand. "Anyway, I think I promised you something about the suntan."
Re: Beaches
Well, to be fair, they both benefited.
