The Great House 2/22 [evening]

The Great House is the hub of all things Necker Island. Not only does it contain many gorgeous open bedrooms, outfitted with enormous terraces, but the house's perch on the island's highest points also grants it some incredibly scenic lounging possibilities. In fact, up on the roof, you'll find a jacuzzi big enough for four at a time.

Don't fight over it.

Every private room has a double or twin beds, depending on what's suitable and/or funny which one you're assigned. Every room comes with a private en-suite bathroom and a beautiful view of the beach on either side of the island.

The Great House has a spacious dining room, where private chefs serve different takes on local cuisine every evening. There's seating area outside as well, and the woman behind the bar will make you any number of cocktails if you ask nicely.

Terrace 2/22 [evening]

The Great House comes with a wrap-around terrace that supports hammocks and cosy sofas. There are board games and even chess sets available - and a fully-stocked bar.

Shiemi had found a cozy sofa and a book and had curled up to enjoy both, but kept being drawn to the scenery.

In the center of the Great House, you'll find the deck, which provides a stunning scenic view of the surrounding area, more seating, a pool table and a piano. Also, champagne. And a lot of it.

And if you take the stairs up, you'll find a four-person jacuzzi. Nice!

Infinity Pool 2/22 [evening]

Just outside the house sits an enormous infinity pool, which remains warm even in the nighttime hours. Jump in, give it a try! There'll be plenty more swimming to do elsewhere for the rest of the week, but there's no place like home.

Dining at Turtle Beach

It's too dark out to go swimming - unless you're really adventurous - but the staff has set out a huge dinner across several tables on Turtle Beach. Tonight, it favors Caribbean cuisine, favoring papaya and stews - and iguana for the more adventurous.

Kitty was all for getting dinner an trying new things.

After seeing the animals yesterday, though, the fact that iguana was there made her sad.

Lovers Cove 2/22 evening

Hoping for a little more privacy? This small beach is tucked away between the palm trees, offering cushioned seats on the sand and a gorgeous view of the water at night.

Go for a Walk 2/22 [evening]

Or take a trip around the island. It's big and has plenty to see - just bring a flashlight.
