Necker Island, Monday Afternoon/Evening

It was another beautiful, warm night on Necker Island. A breeze rustled the palm trees here and there, but it never quite got chilly.

The Great House is the hub of all things Necker Island. Not only does it contain many gorgeous open bedrooms, outfitted with enormous terraces, but the house's perch on the island's highest points also grants it some incredibly scenic lounging possibilities. In fact, up on the roof, you'll find a jacuzzi big enough for four at a time.

Don't fight over it.

Every private room has a double or twin beds, depending on ~~what's suitable and/or funny~~ which one you're assigned. Every room comes with a private en-suite bathroom and a beautiful view of the beach on either side of the island.

The Great House has a spacious dining room, where private chefs serve different takes on local cuisine every evening. There's seating area outside as well, and the woman behind the bar will make you any number of cocktails if you ask nicely.

The Great House comes with a wrap-around terrace that supports hammocks and cosy sofas. There are board games and even chess sets available - and a fully-stocked bar.

Anders was flopped into a hammock, pineapple drink close to one hand and stupid fantasy novel in the other.

He couldn't think of a better place to spend his evening.

Rey had never tried a hammock.

It probably showed in that she couldn't seem to get into it without falling half out of it. It was completely ungraceful, but she was determined to do this.

Frank, unsurprisingly, was still at the bar. Although they did have a midday push to fully restock. It didn't matter. This was a battle of wills, and livers, and in both categories Frank was stronger than most.

In the center of the Great House, you'll find the deck, which provides a stunning scenic view of the surrounding area, more seating, a pool table and a piano. Also, champagne. And a lot of it.

And if you take the stairs up, you'll find a four-person jacuzzi. Nice!

Just outside the house sits an enormous infinity pool, which remains warm even in the nighttime hours. Jump in, give it a try! There'll be plenty more swimming to do elsewhere for the rest of the week, but there's no place like home.

After exploring the island some today, Mara decided a nighttime swim sounded pretty good. All of the nature was...slightly disconcerting...to a city kid, but she was adapting quickly.

The ridiculously nice food certainly helped.

It's too dark out to go swimming - unless you're really adventurous - but the staff has set out a huge dinner across several tables on Turtle Beach. The spread favors pineapple, but there is a vast range of dishes to try: mostly Maleisian, tonight. The beach is lit with candles.

Okay, Dante was never gonna give up strawberry as his favorite fruit ever, but the pineapple mixer drinks? Those were pretty good.

Especially when you could get drunk on 'em while eating food that was, to put it charitably, pretty sweet.

The Beach House is still open for all of your entertainment needs! Grab a drink at the bar, play some pool, or grab a board game.

Anakin had found a glass of stupidly expensive whiskey and a deck of regular playing cards that didn't change faces when he touched them.

Earth was so weird.

Kitty had a habit of trying the drinks on every trip they took, so she got something ridiculously sweet and then found an open pool table. She wasn't the best, but she'd be open for a game if someone wanted in.

Hoping for a little more privacy? This small beach is tucked away between the palm trees, offering cushioned seats on the sand and a gorgeous view of the water at night.

The beach was where Tali ended up tonight, since there wasn't really much of a draw for her at the Turtle Beach dinner. (She'd be living off nutrient paste the entire trip, but she was used to that anyway and besides, the scenery more than made up for it.)

She'd brought out a blanket and found herself a little out of the way spot where she could just lie there and look up at the stars. Seeing the stars was hardly anything new, but looking up to see them from the surface of a planet had yet to lose its exciting-and-new-ness.

Or take a trip around the island. It's big and has plenty to see - just bring a flashlight.

Whyyy can't I sleep?
