Welcome to the Castle Hotel & Spa. Located 30 miles from Manhattan and a mile and a half from Sleepy Hollow, this beautiful piece of architecture sits majestically atop one of the highest points in Westchester County, and overlooks the Hudson River amid sprawling acres of manicured gardens and grounds. With over 100 years of history, the Castle is a sumptuous escape to the enchanted era of America’s Gilded Age.

HOTEL - Rooms

Students are in Deluxe Rooms located in Carrollcliffe, the newest wing of the Castle with one king-size bed or two queen-size beds whichever is funnier, private bath with a shower/tub combination. The hotel offers the most luxurious imported linens, goose-down comforters, and plush bathrobes (and chocolates on your pillow because they're fancy). Deluxe rooms also include an armoire with a flat-screen HDTV, Tivoli clock radio, Bose sound system and complimentary high-speed internet access.

Teachers and their guests are in Junior Suites, also located in Carrollcliffe. In addition to all of the goodies in the students' room, the teachers get a sitting alcove and a separate tub and shower to relax in. Booyah.

Room 201

Okay so Xanthippe had kinda liked this break week. Even if it was mostly because of secret nerd reasons she wouldn't be telling anyone about. Also, the roommate situation? Way better than usual.

Packing was still the worst, though. There should've totally been someone else doing it for her.

Room 203

Anders went to the street fair for an hour or two, but then realized he wanted a be lazy more than he wanted to look at crafts and wandered back to his room. He flopped onto the bed and turned on an Iron Chef marathon.

He'd pack. Sometime. It could wait until after Battle Fish Sticks.

Ada had spent most of the day at the street fair, eating food and people watching. Still, she made it back to the room a few hours before they had to go, hot caramel apple cider in-hand, since she still had to throw her stuff back in her bag and wanted a nap before portal-time.

"Oh, h'llo," she said, giving Anders a little wave. "'M I interruptin' anything?"

Having a roommate again, even for a week, had been...odd. Ada just counted herself lucky it had been Anders, and that he'd been a perfect gentleman. Hell, she'd barely even seen him.

Anders shook his head and gave Ada a friendly wave. "Nah. Just trying to decide who to cheer for. They're very serious about cooking on this show."

He had missed Dante -- but if he had to have a different roomie for a week, Ada had been a good one. And anyhow, they'd rarely been home and awake at the same time.

Saturday means brunch! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, brunch. Stuff yourselves to the gills one last time before heading back to Fandom at Equus' frankly ridiculous brunch (CRAB BENEDICT, you guys. Cider doughnuts!).

The 8,000 square-foot THANN Sanctuary Spa features amenities such as steam, whirlpool, relaxation lounges, and a private VIP treatment room. Private health and fitness classes are available by reservation. There are also daily yoga classes and cardiovascular and strength training equipment located in the gym on the spa grounds.

Kanan briefly considered spending one last morning keeping company with the horses, or maybe just never getting out of bed again. This vacation had turned out to be more stressful than relaxing, after all.

He split the difference by staying more or less in, heading for the gym to beat the poodoo out of a heavy bag to blow off some steam.

Lucille had never been to a spa, and was thus aware that she was expected to wear a swimsuit and be wrapped in a towel or a bath robe. She considered canceling, but that would be cowardly, so she just hoped she wouldn't meet anyone she knew.

The whirlpool wasn't too bad though.

If you're excited about a pre-dawn jog (Steve, calm down), there are paths throughout the grounds intended for that purpose. There is also croquet available on property, along with bocce courts and a life-sized, custom-designed chess set.

Stop by TaSH, Tarrytown’s and Sleepy Hollow’s weekly farmers market, for fresh Hudson Valley produce, meat, bread, cut flowers, dairy products, preserves, and wine in the town square where Ichabod Crane first encounters the Headless Horseman.

He couldn't buy anything; he was still broke. What he could do was pause for the music, going from band to band but spending some real time on each. He paid closer attention to it than some people might expect him to.

Walking Through Time

Our local historical society's two-hour tour introduces the unique history of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow and some of the most intriguing people who have ever lived here. The guides will lead you through the many sections of the two historic Hudson River villages and regale you with enticing tales of local lore. Starting from Patriots Park, you will journey past historic sites and buildings while the guides share stories of the individuals who made these places their home. The tales include historical accounts of real people and events, as well as a few unexplained incidents from the area’s legendary past. Each of our past residents has left their mark on the community, and a few of them may still linger nearby!

After discussion with management, the hotel bar decided that they just couldn't serve Frank any more this week. While he seemed to be functioning as well as ever, it was decided that he had to have been over-served by this point by simple math.

So Frank was finally checking out the town, or at least the nearest tavern in the town.

Though heavy on the headless kitsch, there are lots of fun shops to poke your head into in both Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown. Try out Bella's Boutique, the Philipsburg Manor Gift Shop, Flying Fingers Yarn Shop, or a Nu Toy Store.

Last-minute souvenir shopping was where it was at. Or, Sarah had woken up this morning and realized she probably needed to buy some stupid small thing for Jen or there'd be sadfacing for approximately forever, next time she went back home.

Mostly she was just walking around, though. This had been a good break.
